RPG maker 2000 Compatible problem.

Hi I am trying a new game out, on the RPG maker 2000, but its not allowing me to play it. I have downloaded English RTP, the game comes up with this message "konnte die datei nicht öffnen" which means could not open file. I have searched the internet for a solution, I tried to run combatibility mode and see if that worked, and it didn't, I also tried to run as administrator, which also didn't work. Im kinda stumped. And I really wanna play this game, any one got any ideas?

Are you sure its a rm2000 game and not rm2003? My guess is that its either a wrong format or supported for a different language.
I've never been able to run Japanese rm games. I think it requires a special dll or language support if the file names use japanese characters.

Right click --> Properties --> Compatibility --> Compatibility Mode --> Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service Pack 2) or any other RMXP compatible edition.

Also make sure it isn't trying to store your games in Program Files, I've had that as a problem before, since Windows 7 doesn't allow that sort of thing.
