RPG Maker 2 for PS2

I'm not sure if I put this in the right board. I thought it might have been here, because RPG Maker 2 is a game, but I have a quick question for somebody out there that may lead to others.

Here Goes:

Can you import custom graphics for rpg maker 2? And if so, how?

No.  It is impossible to import custom graphics for the console RPG Makers.

That barely counts though.  You can't import anything 3d and stuff like that.  Instead if you wanted a custom final boss it would be at best a flat picture.  You're pretty limited with what you can do with a flat picture in a 3d game.
Plus RPG Maker 2 is the worse RPG Maker anyways.  XP

Here's a hint, zephyr, stick to the PC RPG Makers.  They may not be 3D, but they are a lot more flexible, and tend to be better all around.

I know that. Very well, but I was just wondering, because my laptop broke and I don't have a computer that I can install RMXP on. I found RPG Maker 2 at GameStop for free with two other games I bought, so I decided to try it out. I was wondering about that kinda stuff, though. Thank you for your help.

RPGM2 really isn't a bad game in the least. Read my quote from another topic:

Truth: Any RPG Maker on a console system is utter shit.

Not true. RPGM3 may not be very flexible, but RPGM1 and 2 have a lot more customizablity, with 2 being the best. RPGM2 actually used to be my primary maker of choice (and it still happens to be one of my favorites). It may not have the prettiest graphics, but what it lacks in eye candy, it makes up in power. Check out these videoes of a game by a Japanese dude. The name of his game is License Hunter:

Pretty impressive, huh?  You can do almost anything that can be done with RPGMXP/VX technical-wise, only the scripting in RPGM2 is a lot easier (don't get me wrong; it's still pretty hard to learn, but once you get the hang of it, you'll see all kinds of different possibilities). I'm not saying that it's better than XP/VX (you don't have arrays/hashes or anything like that, though there are tricks that I've used to get around that), but it's still a very impressive tool.  :thumb:
