RPG Builder 3D

I ran across this program...haven't tried it, but I saw a YouTube video of it. What you guys think?

Tested a bit. Needs a hell lot of work before it is able to do stuff we want, but... Then it would not be to bad.

One thing though: When you play your map a tune from RMXP RTP is playing as BGM. Using it in another editor is illegal. Maybe someone should tell those guys?

There's a free download from their website, but this thing is very very very far from completion. The left arrow buttons to manipulate objects don't even work, you have to drag the slider which is annoying.. it errors when I try to go into the play mode.. there's no simple clicking, you have to hold ctrl to do everything, it's also annoying. This thing is a waste of time. The news announcements from the website haven't been updated since March of 08.

I've downloaded it before, probably a couple years ago. It seems to me like the only thing that has changed in those two years is the website. The actual program has not been updated in a very long time, as far as I can tell.

It really does suck, to be honest. I've used the Torque Game Engine pretty much since it was released. If you want a decent 3D engine, I strongly reccommend it. With the Torque RPG Construction Set, it does what you're looking for. Not cheap, but worth it.

the program really has no actual ability right now.... and it used to get some interesting updates. but it currently can't be compiled into any finished games or anything, so its basically useless...

lol i you haven't notice IS INCOMPLETE and also, use the forums, the version on the rgenmedia site is outdated, and as i see, this is a project between developers not big companies like Enterbrain, and its has cool 3d support more far and faster, its easy and will have cool things.. you keep looking. This is no comparable with RMXP lol

luis i have to disagree with you on that. just the fact that it is 3D puts it in a different category plus its their first real program. RMXP is enterbrains 4th version(not positive on that) so they have had plenty of time to see what people like dislike plus they have more experience. but then the other thing to look at is a 3D render is much much more complicated then a 2D render. and their 3D rendering is very well done. and can handle a lot. what there problem currently is is that they don't actually have it at a point were it can make a game. no i agree that it isn't usable right now as i have tried and it can't compile the files correctly. but really its editing only has a few problems.

I believe that there was RPG Maker 95, 98, 2000, 2003, XP, and VX for the computer, then RPG Maker (1-3) for the PS-PS2, and then there was a Japan-only RPG Maker Advance... And now they're coming out with Action Game Maker. I think that that's all of them, but I can't be sure.

i also agree with you, Jking. it's a good program at the moment, but unusable... and it uses RMXP music. i don't personally like the handling, but that's just personal preference i guess.

That program is sooo bad,
anyways, didnt Enterbrain pick up RPG Maker at 2000, i thaught 95 and 98 were developed before by different company or even independant

i don't know i didn't even know about rpg maker until xp soo... im not the person to consult about that.

but yea if you want to campare this with RM's then atleast give it the dignity of comparing it agains t an older one... i mean really comparing it against xp or vx it doesn't even compare, but the fact is that the editor works on most cases you just can't actually play the games....yet... which is the main point of it but its then in alpha stages...

also you should go to their forums it has an update (0.3.55) which introduces base character(s) and character editing (downloading now and reinstalling not sure if the compiler works yet though...

also the main sites link doesn't work so you will need to go to their forum and look through for an easy share link.
