RMXP - Storing screen color tone settings

Hopefully something nice and simple.

I want to be able to memorize the current screen tone settings (as assigned by the event command) so that if I do a "fade to black" or similar, I can quickly and easily snap back to the exact tone that it was at before using a script command.

The reason being, I am using a customized battle system that uses events to trigger battles, and it interferes with the screen tones. I figure a script snippet will allow me to make the battles easier to code since I have one less thing to configure every time.

I think it is something to do with the Viewport lines of code - can anyone suggest something, please?

I had a similar problem, don't store the screen tone, in the event have a fade to black and instead of it having fade back to normal when it's done, have it fade to the screen tone you want for the map.

Yes, that is one solution. But I'd very much like to copy and paste my map battle control settings event onto each map it is needed on, without needing to continuously go in and adjust the screen tones each time (both ways - into and out of battle).

It's not impossible by any means. I was just hoping for an easier solution than the obvious, manual data entry intensive way.
