RMXP - Step on a switch?

I've been using rm2k3 for a while and just moved on to rmxp, I can't figure out how to make a switch that you step on. Well, I can make the events for a steppable switch, it's just that I can't step on the switch, the player can't move ontop of it.

In the event properties 'pop-up' screen, tick the box that says 'through'.
