I got pissed off after seeing yet another person say "lulz RMXP.org is dead". King Pancake of Dickfest, or something like that. Anyway.
I thought I'd actually go somewhere other than NFG for once (shock horror) and find out about this site that's apparently dead.
1. Project Forums
One argument is that nobody is even using RMXP/VX any more.
Early Project Discussion
The last post on page one of EPD is from eleven days ago. This forum is so busy nowadays that there are three people moderating it.
Completed Games
Ignoring the fact that the website never used to even have a completed games forum, this board is getting a lot of usage. Before, completed games used to be a rarity. Now look at them. Master of the Wind, Quintessence, even the low rated (on this forum) but apparently highly played games by LizardLucas, to name but a few.
Recruitment and Classifieds
Hell, the last post of page one here was just ten days ago.
Project Discussion as a whole
The main board I mean. Games that aren't early, but aren't released yet. We have... on page one only, six projects with 6 or more pages. (Those are Dreamland, Vengeance Online RPG, Last Man's Stand, The Mirror Lied (a completed game btw), Final Fantasy IV VX, and Final Fantasy VI SDK. For me, ever post has the li'l "new" symbol next to it. Last post on page one? Six days ago.
2. Resources
Another argument is that people just aren't making resources any more.
Last post on page one of resources: 4 days ago.
As I post this:
Scripts is pretty much the same situation, but with excellent releases by scripters such as Dargor.
3. Yeah yeah, but what about general discussion? Nobody even goes there any more.
Maybe you just got exiled and are pissed off at GD?
Post what is on your mind at this time
RMXP.org's most active topic ever. It is about to reach 4,000 views, and nearing 150 posts.
4. People aren't posting any origional content, just replying to other people.
Let's look at the stats:
Wyatt 290
missingno 257
sixtyandaquarter 182
Venetia 179
kaze950 178
brainstorm 158
Atemu 141
jbrist 124
TREG 120
Xilef 116
Top thread starters. Add together just these ten, and that's getting on for 2,000 individual threads. That's nothing though - look at the overall stats. There are 27702 on the forum at this moment. There are also 330640 posts. That's an average of 12 posts per thread.
5. But... everybody's leaving!!!!!

We have 28862 members...
9. But if the forums aren't dying, why aren't there many sponsors?
There are currently 77 sponsors of RMXP.org. (Thanks Des, my math(s) suchs)
In addition, 8 people have paid the full $30 and got private subforums. (And nobody thought they'd take off!)
10. So in conclusion...
If you think that RMXP.org is dying, you seriously need your fucking head checked in.
Yes I got bored. Yes this post is meaningless. But if this post makes one person get a reality check and realise RMXP.ORG IS NOT FUCKING DYING then my work here is done.
