RMXP online help please

I want to make my rmxp game online, just so people can see eachother and chat i don't need anything else, ive tried servers and clients i saw but the wamp server doesn't work for me idk why, is there another way? can someone give me a server or client for this? i am going to host this on my own computer if this is the wrong section then sorry. i tried searching but i couldn't find anything. help please

You are proposing a very ambitious undertaking. Have you researched the Netplay project? Are you a very, very good scripter in Ruby?

If not, perhaps you should consider another project until you have rectified both points.

but there are already scripts and guides out there isn't there? im just trying to find one that doesn't need the wamp server, i have a website i can use if it's needed

Since you say all you need is chat and player visibility, Nowayskill's server client system should do just fine:

Beware that if you ever want to extend it, for instance global variables and switches, it will be something of an undertaking.

You'll also have to download the latest MYSQL and a database manager (I use SQLyog). Both you can find pretty easily on Google.

i have sql 2005, is that good? also is there a tutorial on getting this set up? the one on the page isn't very detailed
