how do i get the game so that if a player names his charcter for example manbearpig the game will say something like "so your name is manbearpig?"

In the text, add \N[ID] where you want the name to appear, replacing ID with the character's ID in the database.  Just make sure you use \N[ID] and not /N[ID].  I was making that mistake for a long time before I figured out the problem.
