I get an error on line 712.

Do you have any other scripts below this one in the script listings that override Game_Party.initialize? That's the only way @trade_skills would be undefined. Because it's a Hash you could feed it any data and it wouldn't complain. Unless the Hash doesn't exist. That will give you the error you have there.
