RMXP Full-Screen Issue

Hey guys. So, I've been using RMXP for quite a few years and this is the first time I've ever encountered a problem with the program that I couldn't find a solution to via a quick google search.

For some reason or other, after working perfectly for ages, RMXP has decided that it now doesn't want to display games in full-screen. I've tried on existing and brand new projects and the same thing happens. The game runs, the music plays, I can use the controls fine and move about, but when I switch to full screen, the screen flickers for a second and then cuts to black. I can still move, interact, hear sounds and music. Just no picture. I've tried changing graphics card settings and double checking compatibility settings, neither of which have worked. I've been using RMXP on this machine for over a year without this problem and nothing has really changed... so... I'm stumped.

I have no idea why it's all of a sudden decided to have a head-fit and suddenly not like full-screen mode but any help would be greatly appreciated. Other programs and games seem to be fine in full-screen. It only seems to be RMXP at the moment... Any suggestions or anyone encountered a similar problem?

EDIT: Ok, interestingly... If I press F1 while in full-screen, the normal F1 options window displays, but the game still refuses to display any actual game so I know it's just RMXP not displaying the game and not my monitor refusing to display anything... if that makes sense.
