Rmxp Crashing?

OK, I registered Rmxp on my Vista Laptop. So I use it normally, try out a few things and then I want to play around with music. When I try to play a song, Rmxp just freezes an never stops doing anything. My mouse pointer does the loading thingy and the only way to close it is use the Task Manager. Same goes with the Playtest option, except that the game crashes instead.

Does anyone know why it would do this? Thanks.

You might not have the proper sound libraries installed. I'd try figuring out what codecs I need for .ogg files, etc.

Click Run as Administrator and see if that fixes any of the problems.

Or you may need to reinstall RMXP, did you download the proper version or a pirated version?

I've already tried 'Run as Administrator'. And no, it's the proper version, the same as the one that's on my brothers computer.

EDIT: What's the point of using the 'Run as Administrator' command if most people are the administrator anyways?

Its just how vista works for its security its dumb I know! Try choosing run program in compatibility for Windows XP(Service pack 2). Also this sounds like a problem with the rgss player more then rmxp itself... I would fine rgss executable and make it run as admin too...

It's default setting is 'Run Program in Compatibly Mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 2). That doesn't help. Also, RGSS Exe?

Hum.. crashes.. i had that problem as well

I reinstalled everything...disable Vista's Security.. And it was Fine..


Also try not to run too many processes if you rubish amount of RAM or a crap Processor... See if that works..
