RMVX Maps- could use some help/inspiration?

So, I suck at making maps with RMVX.  Like, really bad.  I just don't know how to use the tilesets or something.  But I was wondering if any of you delightful folks might provide some samples and advice on how to make attractive looking maps (such as towns, interiors, forests, etc.)

Pretty much this. It's difficult to give suggestions in general about every map, because a town map is very different from a dungeon map, a world map is different from a house map, etc.. It's easier if you put some maps into the aforementioned thread so we can be more specific about things.
