RMVX Bad Resolution

I just got a new netbook (very small laptop). I want to be able to run RMVX on it, but the max resolution is 1024x600. When I start it, it says "Cannot run with less than 1024 x 768 resolution.". I almost have that, is there any way to run it?

we've had this question come up a couple of times before. Try enabling non-native resolutions for your graphics card/monitor. (Not sure which) The option enables you to specify the resolution the computer displays at. (Although the monitor actually displays differently)

I had the same issue - I was able to set it to 1024x768 with scrolling (it's somewhat annoying, but if you move your start menu to the top you don't have to actually use the scrolling much).

I looked that up, I can't seem to make the resolution any higher, I did that on my old crappy laptop to run RMVX, but this doesn't have the option. Or is it hidden somewhere? I'm running XP.

OK, I just looked it up on my laptop, and it should be in the video card settings. For me, I went to the display functions. (Right click on desktop, select "Properties") Then, I went to the "Settings" tab. On the bottom there should be an "Advanced" option. Select that, and it should take you to your video card settings. Then, if the option isn't available in those menus (It probably won't be) go to the tab named after your graphics card and open the advanced settings. (Mine offered them in the form of a "Control Panel") In my case, the function you needed was labeled as "Custom Resolutions" . (I have an nVidia card)

Bleh, I have an Intel Integrated graphics card, those are well, bad. The menu for the card doesn't have much.

There's no option for that, and there are only 2 resolutions to choose, this, and smaller.
