The Ultimate FPS Game Creator thing!
Rival Game Creator is designed for those who want to make their own FPS games but don't have the 3D modelling skills or programming skills that most other FPS makers require.
The user-interface is designed to be familiar and simple to understand and the game you produce is highly customisable, allowing different resolutions, rendering sizes, floors, I could list what it can do but it would go on forever.
Rival Game Creator is made to help you produce what you imagine, unlike the other FPS game creation software out there that requires hundreds of hours of learning just to create a room and a gun that goes bang.
Rival Game Creator literally requires no training, no knowledge of 3D graphics and comes with pre-packaged resources to use.
Seriously Easy
Like, seriously. Click on the graphic you want from the palette on the left, click on the canvas and there you go. Create corridors, houses, towns, cities in minutes.
Want to decorate the floor or ceiling? Toggle it's visibility then use the same technique to paint away, click the play test button to see what you designed instantly.
Events and Menus
This part is still under construction. The planned interface is similar to RPG Maker, click the event tool, double click on the sector you want the event, boom it appears there. Choose it's health, it's animation sequences, what the action button does, show a menu, etc.
To create a menu just load up your graphics, decide where they go then place various information objects onto where you want them to be.
Make a Unique FPS Game
These days every FPS Game looks the same, so make yours unique, throw in your own graphics, play your own sounds (<- Still being worked on), make your own enemies and allies, everything to make your own game come alive will be there (I even plan on adding a multiplayer capability, but that looks like it will come after the first release).
Okay so I made a game, what next?
Compile your project and then share it to the world, you can even sell it (Any games sold that were built with Rival Game Creator have nothing to do with me, okay? Okay!).
The Catch
This is planned to be a commercial tool with engine, pricing hasn't been decided, but it will be cheaper than FPS Creator.
3D model support is there, however the engine uses it's own simple model format that is currently only editable in a notepad file, it's simple to understand if you know how vertices and faces work.
System Requirements
What ever you plan them to be! Customise your game to be scalable in graphics, set it's resolution, decide how sharp the renderer will be, then check it's performance.
The engine will have the ability to produce performance reports so you know where your game requires the most out of a computer and where it doesn't.
