Rhapsodia Village

Rhapsodia Village is a truly gargantuan city, not much of an actual village. The town is split up into six communities: Rhapsodia Port, Guild Accuron, the Mintleaf Conglomerate, the Cosmosi Faction, Lust Masque, and the Valor Syndicate. Each area of the village is inhabited by certain townspeople, so it's usually quite odd to find people wandering about. For instance:

Rhapsodia Port
This is the fisherman's wharf of Rhapsodia Village. A variety of townspeople live here, including our heroine. This area is frequented by travelers and sailors abroad.

Guild Accuron
Guild Accuron is a guild established for hunters; more preferrably, bow and gun hunters. A peaceful and quaint area full of friendly townsfolk.

The Mintleaf Conglomerate
A mystical village in between Rhapsodia Village and the forests. A learning place for magicians, this area is very reserved and serene.

The Cosmosi Faction
A very religious and conservative area which doubles as a religious sect. A massive church is the backdrop to this unwelcoming town.

Lust Masque
An ancient area filled with thieves and traders. Possibly the oldest area of Rhapsodia Village, the inhabitants are often of a different ethnical background than the rest of Rhapsodia Village.

The Valor Syndicate
A mountainous and rough warrior's training ground. Mining and forging are among other activities of the region.

Being apart from each other has become a normal part of Mina and Rai's relationship. Rai has spent almost an entire year traveling while Mina carries out her life in Rhapsodia Village; Rhapsodia Port to be more exact. Letters and word-of-mouth by sailors are the only lasting connection between the two. During one letter reading session, Mina is interrupted by her close friend Lucia, a wealthy lady who lives in Chateau Monico, a large mansion in the center of Rhapsodia Port. Mina is told by Lucia that Seth, a young priest of the Cosmosi Faction and longtime friend to both Mina and Lucia, has an urgent request to see both of them. Lucia, however, has other plans: tending to the annual ball to be held on this very night in Chateau Monico. Lucia asks Mina to go and visit Seth for the two of them, and also invites her to the ball. Mina accepts, and heads on to the Cosmosi Faction. On the way there, Mina stops in Lust Masque and gets a fortune read by the local fortune-teller Isis. According to Isis, something, or someone, in Mina's life isn't doing so well.

The very next day, a letter arrives in the mail...

Mina is a quiet and compasionate young lady who anxiously awaits Rai's return. She has a very calm and quiet aura about her, and usually keeps to herself.

Lucia is a wealthy lady who's father is Governor Bisharde, a government official for the Rhapsodia Village Council. She's the exact opposite of her sister Anastasia, who is very proper and lady-like.

Seth is an eccentric and genius priest of the Cosmosi Faction. He is often thought to be the lunatic of the entire Faction.

Love the message system. I also like the idea of the different communities. This looks well thought out.

Thank you! I think ccoa's message system really makes the graphics look amazing in messages.

I really like the way ou have layed out the city and the artstyle for the characters. The art really gives them all personality of their own, which is a must if you're going for 65 of them. Glad to see you're using the KGC Large Party script for that, though. When you have lots of characters to choose from I find it is better to have more slots in my party.

Now if I could just learn decent mapping skills...

To be fair, the one map you've shown looks pretty decent. I might suggest for houses perhaps not making them fill the whole 20*15 space, so in the map you posted perhaps you could condense it a bit by moving everything closer together. The house will look a bit smaller on the inside, but the proportions will seem better.
For doors, I also like putting a single tile width of the "top of wall" autotile across the top. You can still walk through it but it creates the impression of rooms instead of the houses being a single room. The bottom right corner, for example.

I'm not a brilliant mapper at any rate myself, but hopefully you get what I'm saying. At any rate, your maps are far from horrible if the house is anything to go by.

This looks cute! I'll definitely play this when you complete it.
I love the stylized graphics!:thumb:

My mapping skills were pretty average, but if you take a look at some maps other people did, it helps quite a bit. The trick is to keep things small and compact, I think, so that you don't end up with large empty spaces.

I love the message skin, but it really doesnt look good with the rtp. I know its hard other wise you have to make completely custom resources. I also love the art style of the chacters and the enemies

I thought the windowskin was kind of cute and it fit the character graphics well, but I see what you mean by saying it doesn't match the actual RTP.

UPDATE: We have implemented the Random Wether Effects system into the game. Akahi Aomitsu will release this script to the public also, but you must credit us, especially him.

UPDATES!

Okay, a few things. First, this project is not dead. I've had to delay due to personal circumstances, but it is still in development. I have actually made a few more maps, and started work on the actual gameplay and events. It's late, so I'll post the new screenies and updated stuff tomorrow. Thanks for all your support!

Edit:
I went ahead and added one of a few new screenshots. More features will be added tomorrow...

I like the setting and I like the fact that the main character already is in a relationship at start. It will also be exiting to see which direction you want to go with this project.

Radiata Stories was a cool game. I don't have much to say about this, I'm sorry. Although it SEEMS like a ripoff to me, I might be wrong. It looks good otherwise, and I know I'd play it. (I like your avatar BTW.)

How so? I've never played Radiata Stories.
