One of the most primal human urges is that of Retribution, to rebound the suffering that has been inflicted on you. Perhaps It was a mistake to take Karman Beckford from his family. Because the power of Retribution can be strong motivation...

When Karman was fifteen years old his father was brutally murdered. He never saw the body, but perhaps that was a good thing. The experience changed him, he became an outcast with his peers and kept to himself. But he also became a stronger person, as he felt It was up to him to support his family. Unfortunately his means of support mostly consisted of thievery, and one accursed night his luck ran out, and so he was locked away in prison. But now It Is time to break out, because Karman has a feeling that his family is once again in danger from the force that offed his father.

Karman
Karman has been the sole provider for his family for the past three years, unfortunately he spent the last year of that time in prison. Many would say that he has changed ever since the brutal murder of his father.

Cosmo
A magician who was arrested for failing to complete the "Return" portion of the vanishing act. Although he suffered through six years of prison, he still has hope that he will reunite with his lover. He is the optimistic one of the pair, and It often falls on his shoulders to lift Karman's spirits and motivate him.

Although I'm none too fond, of the idea of another revenge story, you've presented this well enough, so I'll leave that be.

There could be some more stuff, too. Features? How will this play? More character info, or something.

Seriously, nothing makes a better first impression, than a project thread, with a good layout. It made me want to read it. I read it, and it interested me. This is how all early project threads should look... Except with more information. :D

More information would actually warrant it to be moved to Projects in Development, so I'd say for an Early Project this is looking really good. ;)

Yeah, really great mapping for the 2nd screen. The grass sorts of bright but that not a major problem. You didn't give much story detail make it hard to comment. Anyway, throw some more screens!
 
Nice mapping. I wish you could keep the original size of the font in your post, since it's pretty annoying and hard to read.

Okay, those features aren't exactly what I was expecting. How does the game play? Is it just the two characters, that fight? Is it real-time, or turn-based? Info, man!

Oh, and congratulations on making to projects in development! :D
 
Well currently, I am planning on using "Blitz Skills". In which the player must press the buttons as directed or their attacks will suffer. Instead of just having the player tap the spacebar throughout every battle.
 
I suppose that could remedy the problem of button-mashing... Will skills be pulled off in the same way, or with more difficulty, or...?

I like this, man.  It sounds pretty good and the way you proposed the preface and character bios makes me want to know what's going to happen after they get out of prison, or whatever it is they're going to do.  Keep up the good work!

Just a teensy update, I'm pretty sure that I'm going to commision someone to draw battlers for me. I just have to convince one of my parents to let me use one of their credit cards :).

(I doubt that's considered an update)
