Response to CCOA's dig on HBGames staff on Spongen

This was deleted on spongen, and ronove spoke in such a manner that it made me seem like I was behaving in a hostile manner or something so I'm just posting verbatim here for sake of accuracy.

Ronove, I am going to make this one comment and be done with it forever. You have a sincere promise of regardless of what may be said in response to this post that you will here no more about it from me.

Frankly, most of the people who would be there are not people I particularly want to talk to, new or old. And from what I understand, most of the staff aren't really nice people. No offense, Wyatt, I like you and Brew, but from what I've seen and heard I want nothing to do with them.
ccoa lets go over the current HBgames staff shall we,

Tindy: Nice american girl who's never had a bad thing to say about anybody. Had nothing to do with Treg's rmxp.org

Dadevster: Cute farm boy from canada who is demonstrative of canadian blandness and niceness. Again had nothing to do with Treg's rmxp.org

Regi: Not very outgoing and never controversial. We forget he's moderating sometimes. Was there at the end of the Treg days, but I was pretty much at the helm then.

Perihelion: Sweet american girl, I have yet to meet someone with a problem with her. Was there at the end of the Treg days, but I was pretty much at the helm then.

Samot: Coolest dutchman you will ever meet. That makes him like one of four people. Had nothing to do with Treg's rmxp.org.

Guardian: Is like wyatt. Wants nothing but for people to get along. Was there during the treg days but never involved with that administration directly.

Zeriab: Hugs everything. Was there during the treg days but never involved with that administration directly.

bashful crobat: arbiter's chinese dish. I can't see any probs with him either. Was there during the treg days but never involved with that administration directly.

mawk: No one more honest, no one more introspective about their own acts.

Arbiter: He's been abrasive with some really shitty users like nikki and hybrida, but one was a generic rage kid who kept shitting on the community and baiting members whenever possible and the other was just an annoying fail troll we found amusing for a bit. I'd hardly chalk him up as a generically rude administrator.

Sophist: I've been around since after the change of ownership to treg. I've been known to be firm and acerbic to users who rage first and ask questions later, but i don't think there is anyone who would say I was anything other than firm but fair or that I was a staff member who raged or abused their authority. And since I don't know you from a hole in the wall I sincerely doubt your problem with the staff has anything to do with me or the people we've chosen to help us run the site.

If you would like me to be frank an honest about this, I think you like or prefer to think of yourself victimized by the site and its staff, because you like the sympathy and status you perceive such nonsense gives you in other communities. The fact that you trash the place despite the fact that everyone involved in it has little to nothing to do with your specific and personal grievance makes this all the more clear. We don't even own the domain you have so much ire over.

Normally I wouldn't bother with this nonsense, but Wyatt is a nostalgic guy and really wanted to make this work and your childish grudge has made him want to give up on it. I think its sad to see some people carry a grudge so far that they take it out on folks who have no party to it and have worked very hard against related preconceptions of the place. That's what's on my mind. Anyway back to your random thoughts.

I just want to point out I didn't ask Sophist to post this, it stems from my thread in staff about a get together I was trying to organise for old members of .org/.net. Nonetheless I agree with it entirely and while this may seem like overkill I really think it is time for the anti-hbgames taunts and spreading to stop.

Members who have never even been here are given a strong hatred of this community based on events long passed and people who are not even here any more (or have even been BANNED).

I just thought it might be nice to get the whole crew back together for a day or a couple of days and celebrate the vast history this site has and meet up with friends which have been sadly lost along the way. I don't want to now because it's obvious that HBGames has a stigma it will never, ever drop.

I find it very ironic that Despain left the site with the rmxp.org domain to form a new rmxp.org which is now a part of oh, would you look at that, rmvxp universe. (No offense to Punk meant, but -)

Wow, ccoa said that? i think all the staff here are great. They do what we expect. nothing more nothing less, they run this community in their spare time, Well this has made me think a little bit more of how ccoa really is like.

Oh well. Staff here are great. End of.

and screw anyone who wants to say diffrently :box:

this

Hbgames.org is the only forum I've ever used, and there's a reason - nothing else lives up to it
Keep fighting the good fight guys :thumb:

We've decided to go ahead with the get-together. If anyone wants to help out you're welcome.

Don't just advertise or spam or anything though. Just if you have some close friends who left the site, let them know what's going on and see if they're interested. I'll post an announcement or something tomorrow.

Hopefully this shite doesn't affect the turnout too badly. But hey, if nobody else turns up, the party food and cake is ours.

Why are you even making an announcement for this? To be honest this is the most pointless thread I have ever seen an admin put up.

Why do we have to ridicule ccoa openly and not just keep our feelings on inter-forum bullshit to ourselves? I'm just saying you should post more stuff that actually has an effect on this site and not about the whines of other communities.

as much as i cant stand you i gotta agree

this is kinda dumb, i mean we had this in staff forum and i dont really see a reason to branch it out; ccoa is a retard and we should leave it at that

also jbrist you will never be a mod bro just saying

I tend to agree with ratty. This was a pointless thread. While it was wrong for your reply to ccoa to have been deleted from spongen, all this does is stir up even more inter-forum bullshit we don't need. Let's just accept the fact that some people will remain idiots and refuse to believe anything good can come from this site, while we have fun amongst ourselves.

As a side note, I've probably stained my RM* rep permanently by hanging out here, but frankly, I don't care. This is the most active RM site I've seen (even if you're trying to branch out), and it has more fun members than I've seen elsewhere. I mean, I don't think bitching about a site that wronged you in the past is fun, do you? Because that seems to be considered fun in the other sites.

Actually, it's almost like the majority of members at these other sites are self-styled "outcasts" from .org, and their lackeys who joined the party too late to see what really happened. I doubt that's the way it really is, but that's the only part of those sites I notice when I bother to visit them. That and the fact that most of the popular members, active members, and staff of the other sites are former members here who decided to break away from our site for no adequately explored reason.

If ccoa wants to air her nonsense publicly I will find a venue to air my nonsense publicly. It would've stayed over at spongen but rye made it clear that my public opinions on this matter aren't welcome. And no ratty this isn't about lol CCOA. The main point is this isn't the site or staff most of the "I hate .org, they stole my kingdom" crowd fled, and we are a little tired of being told we are without good reason. That said I was at a bit of pickle as to where to put it since rec room would have made it seem like a lol ccoa thread and general discussion doesn't feel right since its about the site as a whole. Anyway the point isn't hey lol ccoa

I can't believe people still give a shit about that. It's not like she lost a multi-million dollar investment. Fuck it, dude. :thumb:

The interaction between these two communities is just absolutely hilarious on so many levels. I do have to ask why you felt the need to post this, though.

I'd like to apologize for saying what I said. It was a reaction to something I'd just learned, and it wasn't well thought out at the time. I'm sorry, Wyatt.

On the other hand, this has nothing to do with an old grudge (which is against certain people, not a site), but rather about things I learned from other people who had experienced the site directly, under the new management. I don't "hate" HB Games, I simply do not believe I would be comfortable here given what I learned of the place.

Fine - no one said you had to be comfortable here. No one said you had to be here, period.

But you also don't need to talk about it while you're gone.
