So... new laptop. Mini-laptop, perfect for my needs really, all except one flaw. Install RMXP, run, "RMXP cannot run in less than 1024x768 resolution".
You people do realize that the whole point is that this is a mini laptop. I.E., smaller, easier to carry around, while still being at least mostly functional. And, to answer your question, there is no way around it. You'd have to have someone hack the program, which violates Enterbrain's EULA.
The whole point is it's for school, hence a full size laptop would be too big to carry 'round all day and stand out too much in my bag on the bus or whatever.
There's no way around it? Grr. I don't get the point of them setting a minimum resolution, when the games themselves have such a low resolution. If it's for space reasons, then surely it would be better to let the player themselves decide if their screen is too big and just put it under "recommended specs" >:|
I found a way around this, sort of. There's a checkbox for "allow resolutions this display can't use", and then I can choose any resolution in existance but have to move the mouse to the edge of the screen to scroll outside the screen's max size. Bit annoying, would be better to just be able to use RMXP at a smaller resolution, but oh well, it'll do.
Hey I got the same problem... But I switched my laptop to Windows 7. And Windows 7 won't let me use the higher resolution scrolling that XP did. I'm stumped man!
I love this acer aspire one 10.1 inch . Anyone wanna give me any hints on how to 'hack' the exe. I tried hexing which didn't really work... I edited a value that said 768 to 600 but it said program corrupt. Grr. To be honest, the program runs FLAWLESSLY at 1024x600.
I ran it on XP with 1024x768 scrolling. After I ran the program, I switched BACK to 1024x600. No issues. Ran nice. Ran perfectly. But now Windows 7 won't let me do it.
What do I doooo
And for those of you saying this is an old computer... It's freaking brand spankin new. These Aspire ones are new shit.
