Request for a Cross OS platform Script

I am hoping or wondering if anyone has attempted to convert their projects into MAC, or LINUX Operating system complient? I know Enterbrain has not released its source code, so it will be almost impossible to do a direct compile but I have a ton of friends with LINUX or Macintosh Operating systems. I would love to find a way to be able to get these people involved in the RPGMAKER community. Anyone ever attempt this, know a direction i can look in etc? Thanks

There is a Windows emulator on Linux systems. I think it's the only way since RMXP strongly depends on Windows architecture (DirectX, WinAPI, etc.).
