[Request] "Chase" script

Can somebody please help me by writing a script to make an object (a character object) chase the player?

I would like it so that if objects get in the way, the object will be able to walk around those objects, and not just get hung behind them.

I don't want to just make the object be able to pass through other objects, I would like it to be able to detect other objects, and be able to walk around them, still going after the player.

How easy would this be to do, and if possible, would somebody please help be out by doing such a thing, if it isn't too hard?

Of course, proper credits and anything I can do to return the favor, are possible.

What I want here, is for an enemy to chase the user, always heading in the users direction.

When using the built-in RPG Maker VX commands, lets say a sign got in the way between the player, and the chaser, if the player went down, and the sign was caught up in the way of the enemy, the enemy would just stop.

I was wondering if there is a way to get the enemy to walk around the sign, and go towards the player..
