[REQ] How to map destroyed buildings in VX?

Sorry I don't see how this is funny.

There are guides and examples on how to map indoors, towns, caves, forests, mountains, etc.. but I'm having trouble finding how to map proper *destroyed* buildings.  I can't get it to "look" right...

This is how I would do it
I would sugest making all the buildings first (undestroyed) then going back and taking out pieces of walls and such. Go to Tile D and scroll down about half way and you will see things that look like cave entrances, right below those are cracks and holes for walls and stuff. You probably already know this. I have yet to make a destroyed city. Im working on a snowy city right now. (And trying to find a weather script that allows it to snow... :wink:)

I can only do so much with tile D...

I have this tower and I want it to be ripped in half diagonally so it looks terribly busted -- but it so hard to make in VX.

Edit: why is this topic being mocked? www."that stupid request". com? wtf? cmon. Stop being a smartass.
 
Yeah, I find it harder to make anything at all in VX, as compared to XP. Even though XP is harder to layer all the goods, it seems as if I can't find any goof VX tilesets to use, and the default ones don't make pretty houses and such, and the house thy provide are minuscule(for world maps?).
 
The problem is that there aren't many good "destroyed" tiles in the RTP in the first place. If you want it ripped in half, you'll have to sprite or request a graphic to add to the tileset.

To build on to what Regi said, I would take parts of the buildings you want and pull them into paint and make it how you want it to look and save it then import it to tile E. Now alot of people might not like taking that much time into it but hey its another option and it lets you take control of how it will look.
 
I'm currently trying to map a ruined city and it's actually pretty hard to do w/ the rtp.  I'm working on editing the default tileset to add in broken tiles either in the E tileset, or over some of the useless tiles in A.  I also eventually need to do a broken tower somewhat like you are wanting to create.  When I create tiles like those I'll send them to you and you can see if they will work for you.

Umm... there is a runied tileset in RMVX...  it works fine.  I have mapped with it, and yes, it is a little difficult, but it can be done well.  Look at the maps that came with the program, there are several destroyed maps in there.
