mapping could be worked on, for example, do you walk into a pub and see so much empty space, or does a town have a big spot with nothing? just filling in the maps is whats needed, other then that, i love that battle system.

Regarding mapping, that map was quickly done for a screenshot to be made. I totally agree with pubs not having a huge space in the middle with nothing there. Might have rushed that part. Note that any screenshot of the gameplay and maps is not final, and may not even be included at all in the game. It was made entirely to have something to show.

It would be nice to get up a little teaser of the battle system to show how it works. Also note that certain bosses, and the player, will have battle cries depending on what actions done or taken. This means, when hit, their impact cry will play, when using skills, their skill cry will play and so forth. These sounds is only available for certain enemies. For instance, the Count there has his own cries to add this nice feeling to it.

There is of course more to come. As it appears I am changing very much of the intro at the moment.

Thanks! As far as I'm concerned, the battle system is close to completion, which means I might put up a simple Battle Demo with a barracks for people to test it out. Though I do not promise anything.

I updated some lore, creatures and locations information in the first post if you are interested.
 
Update, as of 8/8/2008!

The story has been changed a lot, and a simple plot overview with as little spoilers as possible is added.

They are lacking very much detail, and there is a bunch of tiles being misused. If you could add me to MSN or something maybe we can have a talk. Just now, those maps are not of the quality I was looking for, but I can help you spice your abilities up so we can work something out.
 
The battle system and stuff from the screens looks pretty cool.  Did you event it all o.O?



Also, I would bet I'm a better mapper than that guy, and I would be interested in mapping for you.  If you don't mind.
 
As I stated earlier, add me to MSN and we can discuss things over.

About the battle system, it's partially scripted and partially evented. The only stuff the event does is moving characters around, and supplying variables to the script. Pretty easy to work with actually.
 
Yea, the major prob was that was a really big wagon coming through, so I had to leave moving space. Gonna make another map.

http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/53/beastxj8.png[/img]the waterfalls are meant to give that map a more mountanish feeling cuz' it didn't have any cliffs, and the bridge with the wrong direction was ment to be like that, so it'll seem more like a chunk of woods someone threw there rather then a bridge. about the pillar-I really didn't noticed.
 
That map is pretty decent, but those waterfalls are meant for use with cliffs found at the mountain tileset. You see the color difference between the water autotile and the ground tile. Also, the bridge you placed is the vertical bridge, not the horizontal one. Last comment is that the pillar you placed doesn't go like that. The cut-off top is supposed to be one tile lower and with the non-mossy pillar tile. Just stuff like that needs to be fixed, by as said, contact me through MSN (first post) and we'll have a talk.
