Already played Diablo 1 and 2. I compare everything to them now, which nothing really does so I'm usually disappointed.
I've been playing WC3 FT for awhile, and then my monitor messed up and I had to resort to an older one I had a long time ago, and the monitor doesn't like all the pixels/etc that WC3 is trying to put out. I.E, the connection cord has several "prongs" broken.
Well, then try Black & White. In it, you are literally a god, and you can do anything. Make buildings, pick up people, use miracles like Heal, Food, and Fireball, and make war with other gods. It's VERY interesting. But don't get the 2nd one if your PC isn't top of the line.
Morrowind and Oblivion, the 3rd and 4th (respectively) games from The Elder Scroll series, are incredible. I would suggest you try them out for an immersive first-person RPG!
I got Morrowind, but the combat is too clanky and boring. My computer won't play Oblivion otherwise I'd be on that instead of RMXP. I hope on upgrading soon though.
A game I've recently been enjoying is Age of Wonders...Though it's the 7 year old demo of it...It still rocks. I just bought it on Amazon for like $2...^_^
I have guild wars and was about to play it, but I have a 56k connection and when I saw that I sat at 5% for an hour to download the newest patches to Ascalon (haven't got it since Factions came out) I decided I'd let that alone for awhile.
@alistor
I generally don't like dark, evil, moody RPGs. If I want something like that, I'll go with Nosferatu the FPS. That game will litterly scare the hell out of you.
If you like Diablo, defenitly try Guild Wars. (if you need any help, just PM Ignited Fafnir/Summoned Fafnir/Impaler Fafnir/Ghostly Fafnir/Steel Fafnir/Jormandgundr Arrow, Those are all my chars, and I'd be happy to help... so long as it doesn't involve money....). Loading times take a while the first time, but I read on gwonline.net a way to get it all to download at once(takes a few hours though).
Silver Knights is great, but the creator isn't gonna finish the new version, and there's very little support for it now. Although it's still an incredibly fun freeware robot shooter.
And...reported. Maybe it's just me, but the rules clearly state that piracy is a big no-no...speaking about it may be ok, but outright offering to give away programs is a HUGE no-go around here.
@Fafnir
I might take you up on that offer for Guild Wars, but I'm pretty sure it will be awhile.
When school starts I'll be able to download things, I.E. leave computer on all night, wake up the next morning. I can't do that now because I'm usually online until 8AM in the morning and then sleep the rest of the day. Downloading slows my comp down.
