Quintessence Ending Theme WIP [Drift?]

After months of day dreaming about the ending theme, I have finally gotten a sudden inspiration and semi-finished the song. :)

(There're some crackling in this version due to bad recording, but it will be fixed in the final.)

It's in a similar style to the opening video's version of the main theme To Realize, except I've improved a bit from back then. This song will be played to an ending music video (not the series' end, just like a ending theme vid that plays after an episode of shows).

Here are some concept screenshots for the matching "video" in its making:

(@$t3v0, that's a "0" at the end and not a "o" - the font is just like that. :p )

The song is named "Drift" at the moment, but I haven't quite put a stamp on it yet. So if you feel that the song should be named a certain way, feel free to tell me. I might not use it directly but will surely get some inspirations. :)

And again, all feedback/suggestions etc. welcomed.

P.S. Sorry, this ending theme is composed for Quintessence exclusively. :/

P.P.S. @lunarea: Sorry for sidetracking. :p I will get Eva's theme done soon.

Very pretty. I love the instruments you chose, and the screenshots are great! :)

Edit: And no worries about Eva's theme. I'm not at the point where I need to use it yet, so take your time :)

Thanks. :) Oh speaking of which, your sprite edits will be credited on a separate screen section from the graphical resources, that's why it's not there.

u might want to find a different instrument for the Doo-doo-doo thing. Its never been one of my favorite synths. If you could perhaps find a female vocalist to throw in a little bit of voice there (just some aah's probably) it would sound alot cooler.

But the rest of it is actually quite lovely.

The main melody right? I know what you mean, I am not too fond of it myself to be honest. But in Finale 2006, that is the relatively best sounding vocal sample for it. :/ I'd try to get someone do the vocals authentically, but it's probably a pain to do and cope with a professional recording studio.

Very very nice, it sounds perfect for an ending theme. It sounds like something you'd expect to hear out of a large-developer-made game :')

I actually have a note about one of your screens: The first and third screens (from the top) have overlaid alphas of a girl's face on them. Normally this would be cool but it's very obviously a huge resize because you can see the artifacts around the dark lines.

You can circumvent making a huge faceset by applying an edge-preserving smooth filter, or just smooth out the jaggys and artifacts by hand. It's not a perfect fix but it will eliminate the glaring stuff. :)

@Venetia: Thanks! :) And ah, thank you for pointing that out! I have been thinking to do something about those for a while now, heheh. Now's probably the time to do something about it - it's been bugging me too.

@Makio: I've made half of the video now. :> But making this video to the song is actually making me depressed for some reason. :| Probably because it reminds me of the ending.

Rofl, I can try. :p

Anyhow, since nobody suggested an alternate title, I'm sticking with Drift. Speaking of which, the music video is now uploaded to complement the song. :> *point to sig*
