Questions and solvations with the [Two Players Engine]

Hi, i'm using this script: http://www.rmvx.org/forums/index.php?topic=43119.0

And it works;
but now i want to know how i can solve it  that the main player hits the Space-Button, and that the other character jumps one left, if he stands next to the main player.

But i dunno how to solve that the other player stands next to the main, and if you then press a key that something happens to him.... if you know what i mean.
