Questions about RMXP

Hey there, i would love to learn how to script, i have so many ideas and i dont want to bug everyone trying to piece together the info on adding this and that. But i need to be directed to the source of this knowledge. Is this stuff you learn in college? Or do they have a type of 'Scripting for dummies?'
Is there a online tutoring thing, or do you just practice it till you get it. If someone could point me in the right direction i'd appreciate that alot! thanks :D

You can start learning RGSS by downloading script demos then try to read what each line does, make a backup and fiddle around with the script and see what what you did did to the whole system...THen troubleshoot.. Or learn CMS... THe CMS, i think, is a very simple way to learn scripting because the methods are easy...

Just make a window, add the window's contents, position,etc.
MAke the scene where the window will be.
Call it via "SCRIPT" in events or via changing the whole scene_menu.

But you can read what Kest posted... The long way...

I couldnt script for shit and I gave up on it and decided to do only events but than I found this book in the bookstore and after reading the first chapters which was less then a day I was ready to script. It took another day to make my first basic scripts but I know thats a big start and if I can do it anyone can .
