Prototype (Yep, again :))

Guys, I got Prototype a week ago and what do I think about the game?
I absolutely love it. I used to play Spider-man on my Xbox Classic (LOL). I think
I wasted more hours on that than I did on Word of Warcraft =\.
I'm up to the first Supreme Hunter Battle (Dayum its hard) but I still cant get
enough of this masterpiece. I liek the idea of the main story + the side missions
(Consume Events, etc.) But, I recently also bought a new LCD TV with HDMI slots.
So I got this new cord, plugged in my Xbox 360 and connected it all. Switched it on
(awed by the dashboard) put in Prototype and loaded it. What did I get>? The biggest
shock of my life. Yes, I realised Prototypes graphics are bad. Not horrible, but bad.
I've been playing on a 80cm non-HD TV the hole time =\.
Just wanted to share this with you guys

P.S. What do you think of the grapics and gameplay? Could it have been better?

Well, like I've been saying to a few people, the only thing Prototype has going for it is the fact that the pedestrians and car drivers seem to all have a mind of their own. I say this, because in inFamous, they all seem to go in a straight line, especially the car drivers. They just keep creeping closer and closer to you if you're standing in their way, they don't swerve at all. Just a straight line..

Anyway, without making too much of a comparison, yes, the graphics in Prototype are absolutely terrible. I kind of see where they're coming from because they had to dumb down the graphics to allow so much on screen at the same time, but.. there's definitely room for improvement.

yeah the graphics are pretty bad... there like an original xbox game. I'm liking the game but its a lil to repative. The gameplay is fine but it doesnt feel right to me... feels a lil outdated... anyways IMO the creators of this game should of spent a couple of more months giving the game more polish like Infamous has

The PC version looks pretty good, once you pump up the AA. I actually really like this game a lot.

I'm also interested in the game (though InFamous is bit higher on my wishlist)
The game looks bad (graphic wise) but amazing gameplay wise..
though I saw the video review of the game on IGN.com they don't seem to like the game, they barely say something possitive about it.. (the part of the cannonbal was pretty funny though xD).. IGN seems to be InFamous fanboys (giving it 9.4 and prototype only a 7.5)

I like the gore and wallrunning and stuff, only a pity the game has such horrible graphcis

Your eyes need to be check. I can't say how it looks on a console, but on My HD Sony Laptop it looks great and even better when I connect it to my HD LCD TV.

Bad graphics? Do you people not realize how friggin' hard it is to render an ENTIRE CITY without raping the hell out of a player's FPS?

The graphics are damn amazing considering how much is going on at once. You guys just complain too much. Doing what they did with high end graphics would be impossible.

GTA IV, regardless of what you assume, was not as massive. GTAIV did not have pulsating, purple alien infections spewing enemies out. GTAIV did not have streets completely packed with people. GTAIV did not have as many cars rendered at one time as Prototype had.

GTAIV is a poor argument.

Maybe they should've opted for a different graphic style anyway, I mean, my favourite art style is cell shaded, and when a game goes over the top with action onscreen and with the amount of blood and stuff, I think they'd look so much better with a cell shaded look or just with a completely different approach altogether. I think Mad World looks amazing, and it's pretty much made up of black white and red.

What about Assasins Creed? that game was pretty huge (if you also count the kingdom in) and the cities where jampacked with poeple. Okay it doesn't have alien things but.. AC had lots of peopple and did a really fine job with the graphics.

Assassin's Creed had lots of people, yes, but they weren't drawn very far. When you climbed up high, you couldn't even see them because the buildings were all in the way. Therefore, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it only drew people that you could see from your viewpoint.
