The Grimoire of Solitude
Main Characters
Solus Locke
http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t226 ... Face10.jpg[/img]
Solus, he appears to look as human as any you and I, but Solus was a alchemic off-spring of the worlds greatest alchemist, Alex Locke. Solus was intentionally created to be the one true perfect being who would lead the world to peace. Unfortunately his 'father' disapeared after a attack on his laboratory. Solus awoke alone in Alex Lockes' lab unaware who he was or where he was he wandered days in the swamps outside of the building until slavers found him and locked him up, at the time his body was only appeared 10 but his mind was of a far higher intellect. He foregone a horrible 'childhood' but by the time he was 16 his powers of will and strength grew. He escaped the slavers cell only to be led into a devious trap.
Now at the age of 20 he lives in the city of Divera, a slumlot but a place of capable livings, he usually makes his gold from oddball tasks to protecting traveling caravans, recently there's been a new easy way to make a buck, some alchemist created these things called Dungeon Scrolls, when used they take you to a dungeon for you to reap its treasure. Each dungeon has a guardian but each dungeon has treasure, some might take a while to find so a lot of people rebuy the same Dungeon Scrolls just to find the treasure. Throughout their dungeon experience sometimes old dungeons will unlock to new places. Once a treasure has been found in a dungeon then it has been found. So you can't redo and get the same treasure, sadly the monsters reappear. Sol is one of these Dungeon Scrollers, he has made decent money off of it.
Val Skyborn
http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t226 ... s/Vals.jpg[/img]
Val Skyborn, his name was common talk amongst anyone who was somebody. He was rumored to of slayed a God, not truly a god be it but more so something that was of that power. The Godbeast as people named it terrorized and destroyed much of Rivera. Luckily though Val had defeated the beast with a mystical sword that was forged to entrap any entities soul force. Whether the entity was evil or good it had a soul force. He was cheered as the champion of Rivera and weeks after the feat he accomplished he disapeared. Not much was really known about Val, although people said Skyborn was of royal heritage.
The Godbeasts
http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t226 ... dude-1.jpg[/img]
Even though the famed Val Skyborn had defeated one of the Godbeats, there was rumours of there being more then one Godbeasts. People speculated that Val was slaughtered by them and that is why he disapeared. Alex Locke knew the origins of these "Godbeasts", for he created them.
Story
The world of Rivera is a vast world filled with island, theres litters of sea caravans covering the oceans and just the same amount of sea faring monsters. Although, the ocean is not truely the most exciting part of this world, although it may be what happened on the small Crescent Island. 25 Years ago the most brilliant alchemist had make the strongest mutagens the world has ever seen, the problem was that they were to potent for a grown body to handle but later he found small doses over a period of time seems to work. Except the mutagens would severly disfigure a normal human. So then he made a genetic mutagen which would keep intact the physical traits without the user turning into a monster and loosing all control.
Sadly to his discovery the genetic mutagen would only work on someone with his genetic code. So then he closed his experimentations, obviously cowardice overcame him so he did not dare using it on himself.
4 Years after he stopped his experiments, he had fell in love with a beautiful woman, Mia, her hair was silky brown, her eyes contained a lush forest, they were the most beautiful green eyes to exist. She had a kind soft heart, and she was often giggly at times. She was the love of his life, and they had settled down in a small cottage outside of the city, Divera. Through their love and passion she became pregnant,
The insanity of science had overwhelmed his mind, he could make possibly the starting point of a new generation of humans, he could make a primal species. All that and more fluttered through his mind. So he secretly gave her mutagen doses over the pregnancy through drinks, foods, and "vitamin" injections. The end result was sorrow, she died giving birth, and sadly a worser fate suffered the baby, he, the baby was in a comatose state.
Over a course of 10 years the alchemist had made supplements to keep his son alive, his sons name was Sol, or Solus.
One night though a band of orcs raided his retreat, orcs in the Crescent Island were abnormal. His fate was never discovered. Solus though woke up from his foggy ten-year rest. Even though he should have the reflexes and the intellect of a infant his brain rapidly grew in the 10 years and his physical strength grew alongside. So even as a 10 year old he was able to take down orcs with a sword that laid by him on his bed he rested on.
Reversed Story
http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t226 ... s/alex.jpg[/img]
The world of Rivera has been cursed with evil entities known as Godbeasts, they may come in human forms but they crave blood slaughtering innocents constantly. There were rumors thrown amok saying the fabled alchemist Alex Locke was the one who created these things, but in truth even he could of created these monsters. There's been many speculation on these godbeasts but out of all the theories one seems to hold more logic then the others. In the center of the world holds another world known as the void, many unnatural things live in this void. These godbeasts could just be the plankton on the food chain in the void. Nobody has ever found the void, or at least nobody lived to tell the tale of it. Except me, Alex Locke... a night many years ago void creatures had raided my shelter, and then they dragged me back to this unholy place. I so miss my son, I wonder if my little Sol is still alive. Being in this place has got me thinking of all my actions but in truth if I could redo everything I would do it the same. Sol is meant great things and great things he will accomplish, but he needed the power and strength to overcome these things. Maybe one day we will meet each other, under what circumstances I do not know, he may hold a grudge on me yet. Maybe one day all three of us will be together again...
