[Program] Tile Studio

I don't know this program has been mentioned but if it has, sorry.

But anyways, This programs is used for making tiles for a game. I know there are lots of programs out there but why this one?

Because it's a tile and map editor.

What it does is you make your tiles. all the parts you need. then when you go to the map editor you can basically lay the tiles you created onto the screen and show you how it looks.

I'm probably giving it a bad description. But here's the link to the program itself.

Tile Studio 2.53 Setup

It's a nifty program :D

EDIT: Make life easier- I created a setup file :)

See, it has a built-in editor inside the program itself. Rather than switching programs when you create a tileset (If you want to demo if it's positioned correctly) you can use Tile Studio and see how the tiles will look beforehand. THEN you can Export the tiles you created (By File > Export, Then giving it a 256 Limit) it will create a tileset sheet for you. Then you can import it into Rpg maker and set up the boundaries and whatever else. :D

I am not a fan of Tile Studio. Real graphic programs such as GraphicGale are way better than it for making the art, and for a map editor, this one is horribly slow if your map is wide. Perhaps it can work for a board game, but for an RPG, forget it. Mappy and tUME are far better generic map editors. (Although Mappy files require a special libraries to interpret them.)

Plus, programing your own map editor is not THAT complicated. That is what I did for my RPG.

Yarr. but for simplicity and just want to test your tiles without having to save and transfer files just to see if the tiles will fit perfectly would be tedious.

I've heard of Mappy and Tume but haven't tried it yet. :D

I'd like to thank you for introducing me to this program. I've fallen in love with the simplicity and functionality this program offers, even in the face of other map editors. This one's right up there with graphics gale as far as I'm concerned.

I tried Tile Studio a while back, it's useless, to be honest, it's just a fantasy, it doesn't actually do anything remotely useful for tile making.

GG takes all.

Peace

It's something RPG make should at least have in the next version. A Tile editor.

But it still let you create tiles and let you lay it on a map and show how it will look in RPG maker. :)
