Thanks for taking time out to read this topic, first of all. I could really use some help with this.
I have it defined that the text plays a sound effect letter by letter through Dubealex's Advanced Message Script. This is established in the very beginning of the game.
Later, the player reaches a save point. Once you save, exit the game, and return to it at a later time, when you talk or interact with anything from then on, the SE does not play through the text.
You can play through the entire game with the SE, provided you don't exit the game. But once you exit and return to your save-point, the SE command is apparently not saved, and no SE plays.
This also applies to the "Disable text skip" command. Originally, you're not permitted to skip through text. After saving, exiting, and loading, however, you can skip text as much as you'd like.
I asked my friend about this, who also uses the script, and he said he had the same problem.
Am I using the wrong edition of the script or something? I have R4, Update 2. Is there something I need to modify to let it save? The manual says that it saves the information along with the game save, but apparently it doesn't...
If there's nothing that can be done to repair the script, is there anything I can do to get around this and have it always have the Sound effect, and always have text skip disabled? Both will always be on throughout the game, altering the script to make it permanent is fine.
Please help, it's rather frustrating, and I'd really appreciate your support.
