Probability System [RESOLVED]

Hey, does anyone know how to do probabilties in XP? I remember there being a probability system in the playstation version. I need it for two things.

1. A Mini-Game section (slot machine, poker, black jack, a new card game I've been working on, and a vending machine which randomly supplies you with the cards.)

2. I'm using Blizz-ABS, and I'm trying to make it so that monsters will do different things when you kill them. Like some could explode and do damage to you, some could heal your HP, SP, or status. I'm evening thinking about using this for a custom leveling system. Like certain enemies have the possibility of increasing your skills, or bosses could increase your level. I also think it would be an interesting way of learning skills. Like fighting an ice monster might let you learn blizzard or somethin'.

Well anyways.. I could do this without probabilities. I just think it would be a lot more efficient with 'em.

Any help is appreciated!

I appreciate your help, Glitch, but I don't really know how to work variables. I've only had XP for a week or so. I set the variable to a random number, but I don't know what you mean by check to see what value it is. There's the variable condition on the side, but that's only "or above". Is there a way to change that to "or less"? Also, is there a way to make that if you use 1-10, you could have each variable do something different? Like have 1-3 do nothing, 4 give you a stat increase, 5-7 heal your party, 8-10 have the enemy explode and do damage to you party?

If you don't mind, could you tell me how to do this in detail?

[EDIT] Oop! Nevermind! I found a way of doing it with conditional branching. I'm not sure if that's what you meant but it seems to be working. Well, thanks for your help, Glitch!

Actually, I did mean conditional branching. Anyway, you might want to head into the scripting forum and find the sticky regarding VX code fixes. One of them deals with a huge mistake Enterbrain made regarding events and variables. There should be detailed instructions on adding it to a game as well.
