Pokémon Pro Circuit: Season One
Match: Skye vs. Kyle

It's a cool day at the Pokémon Pro Circuit grounds and one of the first matches is set to begin. The crowd is already going wild at the highly anticipated matchups for the tournament; everyone attending knows it's going to be an extraordinary show. The announcer and referee get up to the middle of the battle grounds and greet the audience.

"Welcome everyone, to one of the first matches here today at the Pokémon Pro Circuit!" the announcer bellows as the crowd vehemently cheers. "This tournament is set up only for the best of the best! All the contestants here have finished at least one official Pokémon League campaign and have defeated the Elite Four of those areas!"

As the announcer gives off more information about the Pro Circuit to the audience, Skifford "Skye" Jones is waiting at his gate anxiously. He gives off a smirk to himself knowing the rush he's about to experience from his upcoming battle.

"Hooo boy." he mutters quietly to himself. "Welp, Skye, let's do this!"

Gripping the Pokéballs of his selected three, he gives off a final sigh and awaits the announcer to call out his name.

"Now to begin, I will be announcing today's matchup! In the Green Corner, hailing all the way from the Johto region's Goldenrod City, Our first competitor is Skye Jones!!" the announcer exclaims.

Skye steps out of his gateway and into the arena where a plethora of people cheer. His cheeks turn a hue of red as he waves shyly at the crowd. There are a handful of few that are holding "Go Skye" posters and signs. At the sight of this, Skye blushes even deeper. The announcer continues as he steps into his trainer's box.

"Skye has completed an impressive TWO Pokémon League campaigns and defeated the respective Elite Four of each! Having competed in both his home region of Johto and the region of Sinnoh, Skye is no rookie when it comes to Pokémon battling! He is known as the spontaneous combustor of Pokémon training!! Skye Jones!" the announcer bellows.

Skye chuckles softly to himself as he waves again to the crowd. Skye's methods of battling are a bit different than the norm; his combat skills are often a bit compulsive and to some even lucky. Nonetheless, Skye smirks knowing that he can accomplish this match with the trust he has in his Pokémon. Determined he awaits his opponent.

The crowd grew into an upright roar as Skye was being done introduced. Kyle double checked his storage to see if he had all his top fighters on his person. "Alright, every thing's good!" he thought to himself as he started to jump up and down like a football player, waiting to have his name called.

"Now, for the second competitor of today's match, we introduce a veteran of Pokemon battling. After joining the elite group of Pokemon fighters, Team Galeforce, he traveled the world fighting other challengers. He has beaten three gym tourneys and has defeated three Elite Four teams!" The crowd grew louder as it was being announced.

Kyle looked up and saw his teammates holding up signs for him, next to them is girlfriend. He waved, yet still tried to maintain his composure.

"Coming all the way from Blackthorn City in the Johto region, Kyle McAllister!" The announcer yelled as Kyle walked down to the center battling platform, his hands shaking. "C'mon, it won't be that bad," Kyle reassured himself as he stepped into the trainer box, first Pokemon selected.

With the crowd at their max, the referee came through the gate and stood to the side of the battle area.

"Let the battle, BEGIN!"

(OOC: This isn't my best start, it's midnight and I didn't want you to think I wasn't showing up. Sorry for the weak start. )

With a smirk Skye calls out to his opponent. "Hey good luck to you. May the better trainer win!"

With that Skye grabs his Pokéball of choice and mutters to it while the crowd cheers on. The announcer comments on Skye as he prepares for battle.

"And just what will Skye choose?" the announcer calls aloud.

"Let's go get em' Raichu!" Skye says as he throws the Pokéball into the arena. With a brilliant flash of light the Pokémon pops out and cries out it's name.

"Oh, and Skye's first choice is Raichu! Will it be able to stand up to the opponent? It seems ready to go!" the announcer exclaims.

Eyeing his opponent for any signs of change Skye prepares himself to issue commands. His Raichu cries aggressively into the arena and hops from it's legs to bobbing on it's tail. Electricity sparks throughout the Pokémon's body as it takes up it's fighting stance.

"Just to warn you Kyle, Raichu may seem small, but don't take him lightly." Skye smirks as he awaits his opponents Pokémon.

(OOC: No worries, I was at work doing these lol)

"I know what a Raichu is Skye, don't treat me like a newbie." Kyle said as he grabbed his first Pokeball.

"What will Kyle use?" The announcer bellowed as Kyle expanded the ball.

Kyle tossed the ball into the arena, creating a giant flash of light while the Pokemon came out. The flash turned into a massive Tyranitar. It stopped glowing, and gave out a massive roar.

The crowd flared up with excitement as both Pokemon looked poised for battle. Kyle peered over at his team to see them holding up the signs like "Go Kyle!" or even "Kyle, kick their asses!" He got a little more confidence and thought of his first command.

"You ready?"

"Geez, this guy's kinda'..... tense?" Skye said to himself as he readied himself to issue commands. "Figured he'd send a rock type out... Geez..."

"Welp, ready as I'll ever be," Skye sighed aloud. "Raichu, stay on your guard! That thing looks tough. One solid hit and it could do some damage!"

The Pokémon cried out to his master and gave him a smirk. Skye had no choice but to put his faith in his companion. The crowd continued to cheer wildly.

"Welp, we're at a bit of a type disadvantage huh.... Oh well." Skye muttered. "Raichu! That thing's huge, keep running circles around it and make sure it DOESN'T catch you!"

The Pokémon obliged and began running circles around the Tyranitar. Skye's Raichu had a pretty decent Speed stat, and was definitely faster than his opponent's brute.

"Raichu, jump into the air and use FOCUS PUNCH!" Skye called out.

The Pokémon leaped into the air and sent a rocketing punch towards Tyranitar.

http://img26.picoodle.com/img/img26/5/1 ... a877b3.png[/img]

Tyranitar was slammed into the ground by the high flying punch. "Damn it. C'mon, get up!" He encouraged his dazed Pokemon. Tyranitar got to its feet and bellows a roar at Raichu, ready to attack. Raichu just landed on the ground getting buffeted by the current sandstorm. Kyle was ready to make his move.

"Use Earthquake!" Kyle exclaimed as the crowd grew in excitement. The LED screen at the end of the arena started to flash out cheers for the crowd. He put his hood on from his coat as he grabbed his next Pokeball, just in case.

Tyranitar rushed and slammed its fist into the ground, creating a shockwave in the arena.

"Good job Raichu! Now fall back!" Skye cried out to his Pokémon.

After successfully landing the punch on Tyranitar, the brute fell back. Skye watched intently as he observed the opponent getting back up.

"Dang, the only move I can really use on this Tyranitar is Focus Punch.... but Kyle'll eventually catch on. Think Skye, think.... All your other moves for Raichu are all powerful electric types, so you've already used his Ace-in-the hole..." Skye thought to himself.

As Skye was observing the Tyranitar stand up, the sandstorm began to bellow out harder making Raichu lose his footing a little. Noticing this Skye began to call out a command.

"Oh crap, I forgot about the sandstorm! Raichu use---" Skye got interrupted by Kyle's next command to his Pokémon.

The Tyranitar slammed it's fist into the ground creating the massive shockwave that rushed towards Raichu.

"OH CRAP!" Skye blurted out. He knew if this move hit at full force Raichu would be out cold. "What to do? What to do? THINK SKYE!"

Split seconds after the shockwave entered the ground, Skye noticed Raichu's tail wavering in the wind. He didn't know if it would work, but he had a plan.

"Uhhh... Raichu!!! Balance on your tail!!!!!" Skye blurted out spontaneously.

The Pokémon tilted its head for a second in confusion, but obeyed just as the shockwave hit him. At that moment, the sandstorm strenghtened a bit covering both Pokémon in the hazy wind. Skye could not see his Pokémon.

"Crap... is Raichu alright?" Skye thought to himself. He knew he was at a disadvantage with the Tyranitar, but he remained collected. It wasn't impossible to beat Tyranitar with a Raichu; just very unlikely.

The crowd's cheer turned into a muffled sound of awe as the dust surrounded the arena. The announcer continued to bellow out the details of the match.

"Oh! And it seems that Raichu was hit with that powerful Earthquake attack!! But what happened? The sandstorm continues to rage and visibility is down! What happened to Raichu?" the announcer called out.

"Just a few more seconds Raichu...." Skye muttered softly.

The storm cleared a bit and the visibility returned to the arena. Both Pokémon were still standing; Tyranitar jumping back after his shockwave and Raichu still balancing on his tail. Raichu was hit, but not as hard as he could have been had he been on his feet. The flexibility of Raichu's tail served as a ground against the shock. Skye knew he had to knock out the opponent soon as the sandstorm was slowly injuring Raichu little by little.

"Oh? Raichu's still in the battle! What a surprising move by Skye! Raichu is perched on it's tail!! Did it use that as a counter against Tyranitar's earthquake?" The announcer bellowed. The crowd went wild. "Skye certainly lives up to his nickname of being unpredictable in battle!!!"

"Let's see.." Skye thought to himself. He knew that one or two more shocks would finish Raichu off, especially with the Sandstorm raging about. Electricity would have no effect on Tyranitar but....

"Raichu! Shoot thunder into the ground!!!" Skye called out.

The Pokémon obeyed and concentrated it's attack into it's tail which was still grounded into the arena.

"Now quick! Submerge yourself into the storm!"

Reluctantly, the Pokémon obeyed.

Skye had a glimmer in his eyes.

"Crap...." Kyle said as the sandstorm intensified. "What is he doing now? I can't see a thing! If he takes one more hit like that, Tyranitar's done for." Kyle thought as he thought about his moveset.

"Raichu went INTO the storm! What could Skye be planning now? Could this be a mistake?" the announcer said as the crowd grew to a deafening roar. The lights seemed to get brighter as the intensity of the people grew. His hands started shaking with Kyle trying to stay calm.

Kyle smearked as he had his next move in line. Tyranitar couldn't be seen, and he didn't know whether or not it was knocked out. He couldn't bring it back into its Pokeball to switch. It was now or never.

Barely anyone in the stadium heard the next call, "Tyranitar, use Dark Pulse!" Kyle was hoping that Skye couldn't hear the command. A dark aura could be seen within the sandstorm, increasing in intensity for a few seconds. A black wave pulsed out of the center, creating a massive energy dome which rippled across the ground and stood twice above Tyranitar's height.

"I can't use special maneuvers since I can't see a thing. Tyranitar my not have much special attack, but it should do the job." Kyle thought to himself as all he could do was watch what was transpiring.

As the sandstorm increased it's intensity, Skye really hoped his plan would go off without a hitch. He could barely see at all in the arena because of the sandstorm, but he was confident in his skills (or luck as some would point out) as a trainer. The crowd continued to roar in anticipation of the progress of the match.

"Alright, let's see if this'll work." Skye said as he watched intently.

Suddenly a dark dome of dark energy rose from the sandstorm and eventually above it. The push of the dark energy made the sandstorm dissipate a bit. Skye's eyes widened a bit as he did NOT expect Kyle to wildly attack like that. All he could do know was keep his faith with Raichu. He could do it... or so Skye hoped.

"What a massive Dark Pulse attack!" the announcer cried. "With that crazy sandstorm raging about and Raichu thrusting itself into it, I would imagine that it was hit full force by that attack!"

"Dammit. He might be right. It would be extremely hard for Raichu to have dodged that... but...." Skye thought to himself.

Inside the dome of dark energy light emitted from different points of the arena. Skye watched intently as he waited for the dome to dissipate.

"It looks like Raichu was hit with that Dark Pulse folks! The light emitting from the Dark energy has to be Raichu!" the announcer bellowed. Again, the crowd cried in awe.

Skye's grip on Raichu's Pokéball tightened. He began to frown a bit as he began to admit that Raichu might really be down for the count. Skye raised his Pokéball towards the dome.

"Raichu retu---" Skye stopped. A wide smile came across his face.

The dome dissapeared and the light coming from inside was not Raichu but the electricity he shot in the ground prior to jumping in the sandstorm. Tyranitar also became visible to Skye as he yelled out his final command to Raichu.

"Raichu! Do it now! FOCUS PUNCH!" Skye yelled out.

Jumping up directly behind Tyranitar, Raichu rose up and charged up his Focus punch attack. Just as Skye had hoped, his plan worked out. The electricity Raichu sent into the ground acted as a decoy for Tyranitar; upon hearing the command to use Dark Pulse, Tyranitar must've aimed for the light emitting out of the ground from Raichu's electricity. Using Tyranitar's own sandstorm attack against him, Raichu used the force of the storm to position himself directly behind Tyranitar just as he released his Dark Pulse attack. Skye, however, was a bit surpirsed; he hadn't counted on Kyle issuing a command within the storm to Tyranitar. It was just sheer luck that Raichu just missed getting hit by it as he was being buffeted by the storm.

"Wow. I am really, really good! (Or freakin' lucky)" Skye said to himself.

Raichu slammed his attack into Tyranitar sending the brute flying into the ground. Raichu landed on his feet extremely fatigued and wary. Skye sighed in relief.

"AMAZING! Raichu wasn't in the dome after all! Instead he hit solid with a Focus Punch into Tyranitar!" The announcer bellowed. The crowd went wild. "Tyranitar is unable to battle! The match goes to Raichu!"

The crowd went estatic as Skye grinned to himself. He knew, however, that Raichu would be out with the next opponent. He did, however, manage to take out that brute of a Pokémon.

"Well Kyle, your move," Skye called out.

(OOC: Welp, there's my One forced K.O for the match -JD)

"Don't get cocky Skye," Kyle yelled over, "You're lucky that Dark Pulse missed. Say goodbye to your little Raichu." Kevin grabbed Tyranitar's Pokeball and expanded it. The red beam shot out and Tyranitar went back into its Pokeball.

"Who is Kyle going to send out now?" The announcer asked as Kyle grabbed the next Pokeball. He didn't say a word and threw the ball onto the field. Another burst of blinding light came out of the Pokeball. It started to take form. Kyle started to smile.

Typhlosion came into full opacity and roared out to Raichu in a similar fashion as Tyranitar. His flame back coat flared up intensely.

"Wow, it's Typhlosion! This match is really HEATING up folks, a ha ha ha." Kyle rolled his eyes at the cheesy pun and focused again on his Pokemon. "Typhlosion, use Eruption!" With that, massive pools of lava and flames started to spread across the field, covering the entire course, with fiery pillars shooting out across the playing field.

"This'll work."

With a grin of satisfaction, Skye watched intently as his opponent withdrew his Tyranitar. As the announcer described the events taking place Skye was determined as ever to win this match and progress through the tournament. Upon seeing Typloshion enter the arena, Skye's eyes glimmered. He even chuckled at the announcer's bad pun. What would Kyle's next move be?

"Typloshion, use Eruption!" Kyle called out. With that, massive pools of lava and flames started to spread across the field, covering the entire course, with fiery pillars shooting out across the playing field.

The lava left little patches of land, one of which Raichu had trouble balancing on without burning himself. Before the Pokémon could respond, however, a huge pillar of fire blasted into Raichu spiraling him into the arena wall. Immediately Skye withdrew his companion.

"Good work Raichu; you did a great job man." Skye said to his withdrawn Pokéball.

"Oh, now both trainers are down one Pokémon each! Which Pokémon will Skye send out? This battle is really getting the crowd pumped up!" the announcer exclaimed. Some people in the crowd were cheering both trainers’ names.

Looking at his other two Pokéballs he grabbed one and threw it into the arena. With a brilliant flash of light, the Pokémon appeared.

"Go Azumarill! Let's win this!" Skye smirked.

Landing on one of the small patches of lava-free arena left, Azumarill gives off her cry and gets ready to take Skye’s command. The sandstorm from the previous battle was still raging on, now buffeting both Pokémon. To make matters worse, maneuverability was low due to the lava and flames all around the arena.

“What would the Professor do if he were me?” Skye muttered to himself.

The crowd in the arena were beginning to chant ‘fight, fight, fight’ all waiting for the Pokémon to engage in combat.

“I’ve got it!” Skye exclaimed to himself. The glimmer in his eyes brightened a bit. He straightened up his composure and issued a command. “Azumarill! Charge up a massive Hydro Pump attack!”

The Pokémon obliged and begin to suck in a large amount of air. Kyle’s Typloshion growled loudly expecting an attack.

“Aim it at the lava!” Skye ordered!

Azumarill blasted a rocket of water towards the lava immediately cooling it down and putting out the fires around. A huge amount of thick steam spewed from the now cooled down arena.

“The entire arena is covered in a dense fog! Could this be a part of Skye’s strategy?” the announcer announced. “It seems that the sandstorm has stopped as a result, but the arena is now almost completely shrouded in mist!”

(OOC: if I can’t do this, PM me Des and I’ll change it)

Skye smiled at his Pokémon’s achievement. While it meant that Typloshion wouldn’t be buffeted any longer by the storm, neither would Azumarill. Alongside this, his Pokémon would now be able to use the entire arena. Also to his advantage, he now had the element of surprise with the mist.

With a determined look, Skye smirks as he prepares his next attack...

"What is he doing?" Kyle wondered as the mist inched closer to his end of the arena. He reached down to his Pokeballs. "I can't let him fight this." He thought as he expanded Typhlosion's Pokeball. "Typhlosion, return!" The Pokemon glowed red and traveled back inside its Pokeball.

"Oh wow, a Pokemon change! What's Kyle going to bring out?" The announcer bellowed as the arena exploded in uproar.

"Skye, I loved battling with you, but let's just hope your last Pokemon can stand up to this!" The last Pokeball expanded as Kyle threw it into the arena. It broke open with a fantastic flash of light as the massive Pokemon started to take shape. A large, deafening roar could be heard as the Pokemon began to become opaque.

"I didn't see this coming folks! How is this going to help Kyle's chances?" The announcer wondered as Kyle's massive Gyarados stared down the little Azmuirll.

"Your shot Skye."

The mist covered most of the arena, but Skye could see the top of Kyle's newly summoned Pokémon, Gyarados. The crowd went wild as the battle took a change of pace.

"Huh. I didn't expect that?" Skye said aloud. "No matter, I'll just work with this."

Skye watched intently as Kyle beamed proudly at his newly summoned Gyarados. Now knowing his opponent's complete team, Skye felt that he could definitely win this match.

"Azumarill! Hide yourself in the mist! Look up towards the sky and aim an ICE BEAM at Gyarados!" Skye ordered.

The smaller Pokémon obeyed her master and threw itself into the mist to hide from the behemoth Kyle had summoned. To Skye's benefit, Kyle's Gyarados was taller than the mist so Skye could see the Pokémon whereas Azumarill was completely hidden. Suddenly, a concentrated wave of ice came crashing into Gyarados' front causing the Pokémon to sway back in pain. Ice crystals formed around the area the beam had hit causing the Pokémon's movement to slow down a bit. Just as he had guessed Azumarill could see the top of her opponent clearly from the mist.

"Good job Azumarill! Stay hidden in the mist and keep moving!" Skye called out.

http://img28.picoodle.com/img/img28/5/1 ... 39d64e.png[/img]

(OOC: I am SO not used to fighting like this. I'm used to the DS version of the game.)

"Gyarados! Use Thunder Bolt, it'll spread through the mist!" Kyle yelled out as Azumarril was running around the field. The visability was very low at this point, but Azmarril was in the mist as it was covering the whole field. A giant bolt of electricity shot down onto the field, branching out, creating a massive electric field. The crowd went into an uproar as they could only watch how Skye would react.

"Gyarados, after this lower your head into the mist and move!" Kyle commanded as the electricity continued to crackle on the field.

(OOC: How so? I'm just trying to be creative ;) )

"Oh and Gyarados fires off a huge thunderbolt! It seems that the mist is crackling with sparks! How will Skye counter this attack?" the announcer called out.

Gripping Azumarill's Pokéball tightly Skye began to think to himself. The predicament he was in was dire; Azumarill was weak against an electric attack like Thunderbolt, and if it hits directly she could take some massive damage. Also, he was sure that Azumarill was hit slightly with the electricity surging through the field.

"Dang... This might be bad. Azumarill can't take another Thunderbolt if it hits directly, but atleast I still have the mist to use." Skye began to say.

The crowd was going wild as the heated battle progressed. Gyarados had lowered itself into the mist searching for Azumarill. Skye had to act fast or things could get ugly. Suddenly his eyes widened as if he had recalled something.

"Azumarill! Spray the entire arena with water! Use SURF!" Skye called out. "Make sure you get Gyarados wet!"

The Pokémon jumped up momentarily out of the mist; Skye could tell that it had taken some damage from the electricity surging through mist, but was otherwise still ready to go. Azumarill sent waves of water into the arena submerging into the electrical mist. The electricity strenghtened in the arena as a response to water being added in. Moreover, Kyle's Gyarados was in the mist; it was almost impossible for the Pokémon to stay dry from the surf attack from Azumarill. With the electric currents strengthened by the water, Skye watched intently; Gyarados was a flying/water type making electricity its biggest weakness.

With that Skye crossed his fingers. He could only hope that his luck would make Gyarados' own attack it's own biggest peril.

Kyle saw the waves of water coming from Skye's side of the field. He knew if Gyarados was hit by the Surf attack, then it would be done for. "Wait, could I pull this off fast enough? The mist is evaporating being heated by the electricity." The crowd went into an uproar as Kyle scrambled. "Gyarados, get out of the mist and use Earthquake!" Gyarados tried forcing its way out of the mist and slammed into the ground, creating a shockwave similar to Tyranitar's.

The crowd went insane as the waves and ripples in the ground rushed towards each other.

"C'mon... work..." Kyle thought to himself. He didn't want to bring out Typhlosion, although he could take Azumarril out with a quick attack. He grabbed Gyarados' Pokeball, worried what may transpire.

Edit: Spelling Error

The match was surely heating up as the waves from Azumarill's SURF attack collided with Gyarados' EARTHQUAKE attack. The tremor caused the water to rocket into the air and sparkle over the arena. The mist, which was heated by the electricity was fading quickly and Azumarill's cover was quickly blown. Landing on her feet, the Pokémon jumped back to brace for the shock of the EARTHQUAKE attack. Luckily, the force of her SURF had cushioned the attack a bit with the full force of it colliding with the SURF attack, but was still enough to make Azumarill stagger backwards from the intesity of the match.

"Shoot. He canceled out my plan with an Earthquake attack... he's pretty good... or impulsive," Skye said to himself.

'Oh and it seems that the force of both Pokémon attacks have cancelled out eachother! The Mist seems to have evaporated as well! WHat will both trainers do? Both Pokémon seem like they've had their fill of attack, but which will go down first?" the announcer bellowed.

Watching intently, Skye began to feel a little pressured. They were tied in terms of remaining Pokémon, but Gyarados was bigger and stronger in strength than his Azumarill. The only option he had left was to finish it off before it could finish him off. But what could he do? One solid hit from Gyarados would quickly knock out Azumarill. Her defense was higher than Raichu's, but could she last too much longer?

"Shoot.... What do I do? I gotta' act now.." Skye began to mutter to himself. Looking at his opponent Kyle he could tell that he was feeling the same pressure as well. His eyes scanned over to Gyarados and widened.

"Azumarill! Use BLIZZARD! Turn that water sprinkling down from the sky into a snow storm!" Skye ordered.

The Pokémon staggered a bit, but regained it's composure. Inhaling air, she sent a massive flurry of snow and ice towards the sky turning the remaining water into ice which came crashing down towards the arena. The ice on Gyarados' front from Azumarill's previous attack reflected for a second. The Pokémon was covered with some water that had sprinkled down before the attack.

"Alright, this is it, make it hit Azumarill!" Skye said as he clenched his teeth.

The icy attack came rushing down towards Gyarados. Azumarill exhausted, fell onto it's bottom panting heavily.

Kyle grabbed onto Gyarados' Pokeball as the last hit MIGHT knock it out, but he wasn't going to take any chances. The move might be sacrificial, but it would knock out the Azumarril.

The crowd was still uproarious as the ice crystals started raining down from over head, hurting Gyarados. The announcer bellowed, "What an impressive match so far! Who's Pokemon will be knocked out first?"

"Azumarril's weak! Use Thunderbolt!" Kyle commanded, shielding himself from the sharp blizzard raining down. Gyarados charged the thunderbolt, then with a brilliant flash, smashed down onto Azumarril's body, sliding him across the field.

"Great job." Kyle told his Pokemon as it started to squint its eyes in pain. One more hit might bring him in, but his SDEF was trained well.

"Oh wow! A massive thunderbolt leaves Skye with only one Pokemon left. Kyle's involvement with Team Galeforce has really been showing with the last few sparatic moves." The ice storm continued, cutting Kyle in the check and ripping his coat. A little blood dripped onto the floor. "This can't be good..." He thought to himself as a few more cuts appeared. "Hurry up Skye..."

The blizzard died down and Gyarados still stood. Kyle tried to maintain his poise rubbing his cuts with a Kleenex in his pocket. "Let's see what you've got Skye."

(There's my KO for this match. Good luck.)

With a brilliant flash of thunder, Azumarill was knocked out by Gyarados' attack. The crowd all around went into a frenzy. Luckily, the Blizzard had died down and the arena's climate had returned back to normal. Backed up into the ropes, Skye was left with only his final Pokémon wile Kyle still had two.

"Azumarill is unable to battle! The bout' goes to the Red corner!" the announcer bellowed. "Who will Skye's next Pokémon be? This match is really something! Things don't look too bright for Skye!"

Looking down at his fallen water Pokémon, Skye held up his Pokéball and withdrew it. It had fought quite bravely and atleast had weakened Gyarados a sufficient amount.

"Well, good job Azumarill, you fought hard; Rest up," Skye said to the Pokéball as he reached out for his last companion.

Looking up back into the arena, Skye's eyes flashed with determination. The nervous and clumsy smile faded away into a serious grimace. It was now or never; his last Pokémon would determine the outcome of this match. Tossing the Pokéball into the arena, a light flashed brightly as his last Pokémon appeared.

"Go Torterra." Skye said calmly.

The massive Pokémon appeared roaring loudly up at it's opponent. The trees on it's back shuffled a bit and leaves flew all around the Pokémon. The crowd continued to cheer on as the match began to draw to it's final bout.

"Oh and Skye sends out Torterra! It's all or nothing now for the Green corner!" the announcer explained.

"Let's do this buddy. You can do this, I know you can!" Skye said aloud. Out of all his Pokémon, his Torterra had the highest defense; plus it had a health advantage against Kyle's weakened Gyarados, but what would happen when he summons Typloshion?

"Torterra. Frenzy Plant." Skye said calmly.

With that the brute of a Pokémon unleashed a massive growth of roots from the ground which tore through the arena. This technique was a rare one indeed; it was said to be only attainable by regional grass type starters. Luckily Torterra was one of them. With a valiant roar, the roots came crashing violently into the weakened Gyarados sending it flying into the opposing wall and covering it in a mixture of vines and roots. All Skye could do now was wait to see if Gyarados would get back up; something he had really hoped against.

Kyle watched as Gyarados slammed into the wall, covered in vines. Torterra stood there, resting up after the Frenzy Plant attack. Kyle could end it now.

"Oh, and it looks like Gyarados is out of the match, leaving only Kyle's Typhlosion left on his side. It's a massive fire type against a massive grass type. Will Typhlosion's special destroy Torterra?" The crowd was the loudest it's ever been. It's now or never to end this match.

"Gyarados, return." Kyle said calmly. He continued to hold the Kleenex on his check, grabbing his final Pokeball. "Torterra is completely immobile after that attack. If this doesn't beat him, nothing will..." The final Pokeball spun in the air, released the already revealed Typhlosion. "Its Blaze property should knock Torterra out cold. Typhlosion's at full HP, so this attack should hit extremely hard.

He started to grit his teeth, being as nervous as he could be. This was the last round of his first Pokemon Pro Circuit match, and be may win it. "Wait... could Skye do something with this...? No... His Torterra can't move an inch or use any skills..."

Typhlosion looked over to Kyle for a command. "Typhlosion... use Eruption!" The familiar fire pillars and rippling pools of lava spread across the field, sending it straight to the helpless Torterra. The stadium started to shake as the fire pillars exploded into the sky.

"This has to do it."  Kyle whispered to himself as the fast moving eruption shook up the field, racing toward Skye's final Pokemon.

"C'mon...."
