Found this over at Gaming Fusion. Something that a company named Valve is producing. You have to watch it. I wish this weapon was real, but I'll say no more till you watch this.

Portal look pretty sweet. I played Prey and they did the portal thing pretty well, but I feel Valve can make it amazing...I mean they started the whole gravity gun thing...Valve makes FPS that stray from the norm...

A lot of 3D engines support 'Camera View Texturing' which is essentially making a texture on an object the equivilent of a camera object's view, which is how Portaling is done.. The moving through them however its the hard part.

I think the whole portal idea would make for a good dungeon puzzle mechanic.
