popping up char in text

hi al i am new here
i have a qeustion:
i saw a video of rpg maker vx sample games and at that video i saw a char popping up in the text
can i do this with xp to?
so yes how can i do it

You can just do this with the Show Picture command.

You really should elaborate more. I mean, is there more to it than just "show picture" command? Is there anything in specific that we may need to know? And if you don't feel like explaining it, can you guide us to where we should look to find out?

Using show picture in combination with the move picture and tint picture commands, you should be able to acchieve the exact same effect.

Just show the picture - tinted to black - and then move it a few pixels towards the center of the screen while tinting it back to normal at 15 or so frames.
