Pokemon Starter Kit...HELP!!!

[EDIT] Every time I use the editor( even when I don't compile) It erases my trainer's 2nd page.....WHY???!!!!!


Okay, so I'm trying to make a gym leader, but every time I end the battle and it's supposed to switch over to the next page (via local switch A) it doesn't...why? Because when I close rpg maker xp (even when i save it) it erases whatever I had on that page and replaces it with a text of "..."  Whats Going On??? I can't do anything if I can't fix this.


Maybe it's a simple problem, but I'm stuck, please someone help.

Could you post a screenshot of the event?  That would make it easier to figure out what's not working.

[EDIT] I've narrowed it down to this: WHENEVER i use the Editor, my trainer event's 2nd page gets erased...WHY!??!?!?!?!?

1) Here is the first one, The first page, where I set up that after the battle it goes to local A, which is the 2nd Page.

2) And here is the second page. This is SUPPOSED to have the trainer saying things, and adding an HM to your pack. But when I compile, or save and try to play It reset back to a "..."

I really need help, obviously NOTHING can be done when this is happening.

The problem might be your script-- I can't tell how that interacts with your conditional branch.

Okay Okay Here's the exacts now:  When I open or RUN the essentials editor to change something, and if I close rpg maker after i'm done, EVEN the first page get's changed back to some sort of default. Doesn't make sense so I look at the trainers that are already in the game. They have the SAME things, except their second pages are fully intact, with whatever text was intended and everything.

I still have no clue what's going on, but I thought I should say that as well. I REALLY need help here someone,

hmmm...it sounds like you have a buggy project. Did you copy all of the scripts and the such over to a new project? or are you just using the default project that everything comes in? If it's the latter, I don't really know what to tell you. If the first, however, you may want to create a new project and then try moving all the scripts over again. If you still get the error, then just use the demo project as your base....

I just used the one it came with, i didn't even touch any scripts.

very interesting then...you may want to attempt to redownload the file. I just downloaded it again with all the new updates and such and it works fine for me....you may have just gotten a faulty download....otherwise, I really don't know what to tell you other than maybe contacting poccil himself...

I think I've figured it out. Someone told me that The COMMENTS that come with the trainers need to be deleted or that the events will keep being reset. Ima give that a try. 


And what kind of Updates are included with the new version?

hmmm..that might be it, though I don't know why....

actually, I haven't updated my PSK since around July, so I had some changes to make. I'm not sure exactly what the new changes are, probably just bug fixes (though they all haven't been fixed! ;P ) As long as you downloaded the file after the month of October, you're fully updated, so no worries!  :straightthumb:

I downloaded it this month. lol, good stuff. I'm already doin well, I got about 2 hours of gameplay

Also, was it the comments that was causing your problem???

The comments on the first page, the green lines?? yah, those. I delete them and everything's fine.
And i've been workin on this for a few days now. I'm pretty good into it and i'm not gonna quite. It's just way too much fun.

hmmmm...interesting that that was what caused it....

and only a few days?? wow you must really not have much to do with yourself if you've got a couple of hours of playtime already.... It usually ends up taking me forever with this starter kit because of all the missing stuff that I either have to make, or resize or all that junk.... I think today I ended up with only 4 new maps...so I could say that I have 5 hours of playtime....though that's assuming that the player is willing to stand around for that long  :tongue:

Anyways....off to bed with me! lol

Nothing to do with my life, I do plenty of stuff. I just stay up late and finish some things on my game. Anyway, yeh.
