Ahhh.... it doesn't come out untill the 13th in japan according to wiki but I have it right now....
(thanks to a 5 minute google search on my pirate ship)

I just started but the coolness is making my body numb. I cant read japanese but I guess if you played the other DS ones they it should be too hard.

so lets discuss.... POKEMON!

As much as I like Pokemon, the standard third release seems like such a gimmicky ploy to make money, I never buy it,  I'm happy with my Pearl version.

At least the first time they did it (Pokemon Yellow), the third actually had more substance to it, now they just tack on a whole bunch of tiny features and charge you another $30.

well compared to the other third release, this time they seem to have put some work in.

So far the battle design looks better and there is like snow all over the place. (not alot though)... that doenst sound like alot... but I guess since I never reset diamond this whole story thing is fresh for me.

I would recommend getting this when it is released in english.
but then again, I was hype over yellow crystal and emerald.

what. that is a HUGE understatement of what new things platinum offers.

Im probably most exited about the battle frontier but its gonna be a while until I get there.

Hmm... I actually haven't looked at Platinum, I figured it was their standard one new area and a couple npc's, this may be worth looking into...

I do believe there's a couple new areas. Some old ares have gotten some new additions/redesigns. Most/all gyms have been totally overhauled. New forms("formes" lol) for some old pokemon. battle frontier shit; new characters; wifi enabled underground; wifi playroom thing w/ cool minigames, and tons more

Seeing as I never got Diamond or Pearl (I FEAR THE METAGAME I could never put that much thought into something unless there were some benefit other than winning against someone you never see,) this seems like an excellent opportunity.

Wow I can't believe they still haven't changed the battle view! I used to play Blue/Red, and it was the exact same type of game, they haven't really improved a thing, despite adding more Pokémon. I think they should be more original, I believe the Nintendo Portable Console, whatever it is right now, is capable of much better graphics than that. I recently read here sports games were all the same: same game with more teams and players, this series doesn't seem to be much different for me. This is my sincere opinion, I hope I don't make fanboys very angry. I believe the game can still be very fun, but it should have some more notable improvements.

If things change too much, that would make people VERY upset.
If you want a different pokemon game, play the console versions.

You know, I have the same problem with the Final Fantasy series. Every single game, you're walking through little dungeons fighting monsters to gain experience. It's a fad, that much is clear, and it's getting really old. I'm really disappointed with this, because every Final Fantasy game has merely been the same game over and over again with little gimmicks like new characters, areas, and gameplay to fool people into thinking they're not hopeless rehashes. Why can't these losers think outside the box?

I don't see how these games are similar besides the things found in most other rpg's anyway. Maybe the first few games but now, things are rather different.
