Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver

Just a few days ago it was announced that Pokemon Gold and Silver are finally going to be remade for the DS, something that fans have wanted for quite awhile. There's not too much information on it just yet since it's only been about a week but it looks like it'll be the same idea as the Firered and Leafgreen remakes. Same games as the GBC ones but with updated graphics, the full new pokedex and a couple new features thrown in. Sounds good to me :thumb:
I'll update with more info as it comes out; for now feel free to just speculate or discuss :smile:

Are you serious??? I've been waiting for this since before even Fire Red and Leaf Green came out. Oh man, and I didn't think they would. This is fantastic.

Silver and Gold were arguably the best of the series and the games I spent the most time on. The newer ones are still great games but G and S really was at the height of the series, and of course there's the nostalgic factor. I'll never forget trading Pokemon at one o'clock in the morning at sleepovers :3

I just hope they keep the same "feel" the old ones had, one of the fears I've had with a remake is that it'll seem too modern and too similar to Diamond and Pearl. They're both on the DS and I can't say I'm too enthralled with the look of it, especially the 3D. But hey, we have two screenshots so far so who am I to judge the whole game based on what little we have so far?

Saw it coming with all of the references they made towards it during Platinum.

I'll definitely hold out on buying it to see if they make a combined version like they always do.

This is awesome, I've played most of the Pokémon games but Gold and Silver were definitely the best ones.
I do agree with John Egbert though, I've never been fond of that 3d style.
But ofcourse I'll still buy it cause it's POKÉMON!! :toot:

Gold and Silver were deffo the best - but I don't know if I interested in a full remake: I prefered the original graphics to be honest.

Any news on what special additions might be included?

(FINALLY! I can get a decent Totodile without resorting to cheating!)

holy shiz I WANT THIS. I really hate the ds because of its low appeal rate but this looks amazing. As Devvy said, Silver/Gold are prolly the best in the series THE BEST IN THE SERIES so I will defiantly keep my eye on this.

I don't think there will be a combined version, since Platinum is the combined version of Diamond and Pearl.
Silver has always been my favourite pokemon game. I'm definately going to buy this =D

I heard about this. Most of the time I'd say "It's about fucking time", but its a bit shoddy to see the same game churned out in 3D. I hope they atleast change some plot strands, FRLG was on the line of 'just a graphical change'.

Agreed. The only reason I played past the Cerulean Gym in FRLG was to get all those missing Pokemon for Diamond because it was just the original with nothing really new. I'm really anxious to see what they do with this, and I'm hopeful for a nice little mini-region like the Sevii Islands from FRLG.
