For those of you who don't know, Home is this online community/gathering place where you can just simply hang out with other people with PS3's. THIS IS NOT TO BE CONFUSED AS BEING A GAME

There are several mini games you can play, including bowling, pool and a few arcade games. It looks amazing, and is some fun.. for a while. There's not a lot to do, but the main point is to go there to chat with people. Basically, it's a chat room with stuff to do.

The Open Beta came out today for this, and I got to play around with some stuff. The bowling is probably my favorite mini game, you can play with up to 3 other people.

Has anyone else had a chance at this, yet?

WAS THE MOST BORINGESST [[not even a word]] SHIT EVER. Seriously all you did was walk around. Look at shit. Walk around. Look at shit. Run. Get shitty clothes. Walk around. DOWNLOAD ALL THE AREAS as soon as the game starts [[which takes forever and a day]] and then walk around some more. It looks okay. Yeah its not next gen but I'd actually prefer the regular XMB to this shit. And then the dropped the PSP as a menu to replace it with like an mp3 player or something. Its a good thing this is going to be free when they release it because yeah it sucks. I know because I've been invited to all of the beta tests. I seriously hope they fix some of the issues with this before it launches because as of now. I'd have more fun reading a book. Sorry bro but the 'minigames' are horrible as well. Bowling was like a half thought out thing and the arcade games are shitty as well. actually the ones in GTA SA were a hell of a lot better.

All this is IMO by the way. Some people may like it but to me its not worth it. Honestly and truly.

Oh yeah they've had like 4 beta's already.

Looks just heavily graphically appealing, and thats all. It does looks boring, though, I dont see a point for all this. Electronic avatars are a joke.

If you want something fun play the sims. At least thats filled with all sorts of I don't even know. Fun. Shits addictive. You can make yourself, fall in love, have babies, and all that good stuff. All that you can't do in this.

Even then though the graphics aren't that great. Its like early PS2 or something that SquareEnix would make. Like maybe how the bouncer looked. Its very pretty at times but other than that its blah.

Its about as fun as watching paint dry...and even that packs more excitement than this game does. Maybe I'm being to harsh. But this was overly hyped. Like I wanted it at first. Then I got it and its like. Aww c'mon. Almost like Alone in the Dark. I wanted that game SOOOO badly [[for Ps3 because thats all I play]] and then I finally play it and its not that great at all. Even after they fixed all of the shit that was wrong with it. It let down seriously.

Other than that, it really is a boring 3D chat.

They cut WAY too much stuff and over hyped it so much that everyone wants it but once they have it, they wish they never played it.

Ugh don't even get me started on Animal Crossing. I haven't even touched my gamecube version in years. I fear that tree is going to kick my ass for all the damn leaves that are going to be around! XD I should play it though. Just because I like the reactions and smacking people in the head with the bugnet as well as burying pitfall traps outside of their door just to watch them fall. To bad you can't take an axe to their head thouh.

So, yes, when you think of it as a game, you will be highly disappointed.

And those problems you said, Makasu, about downloading all the zones, is wrong. You download them when you want to go to them (for the first time), and once they're downloaded, you can go to them whenever with no downloading.

This is a real point that needs to be paid attention; it's not a game. There's no way to make things like this interesting and fun; but they've been popular on the internet - so of COURSE they brought it to the PS3.
It's just the natural way these things go.

It's like MySpace or FaceBook, in that nothing happens at all and yet the teen population loves it. They can say what they like about kids who get addicted to MMORPG's - at least they actually do something that isn't picture commenting or whatever the fuck these kids do all day.

i got on it. Tried to make a character that looked like a reasonable facsimile of myself, failed. Tried to redecorate my house, realized I had no furniture to do so. Wandered around while some douchebag followed me typing "*****s" over and over ("bitches"?). Tried to get some different clothes for my character, realized they cost REAL LIFE MONEY. Quit.

Yeah, I got on again and just ran around trying to like it by playing more mini games, tried to play bowling but they were all full.. honestly, I don't understand how this took 2+ years to make. They can make ENTIRE GAMES in 2 years, but to make 4 rooms and some mini games of this quality after 2 years?

It's not a game. It was SUPPOSED to be a form of "operating system" interface disguised as an interactive "game" environment. You could use it to run applications, access the internet, and manage data. It was supposed to be the thing that greeted you when you booted up the system, instead of that desktop/icon interface you already see. But it wasn't done yet.

But it's cumbersome and takes forever to do what you want to do, so I'd say it was a waste of time. The interface they already have works just fine :/

btw G4 was gonna try to break the psn home servers with a bunch of people before they realized you can only have 30 people in your house. people fucking FEINDED HARD to get into olivia munns home  house. there were so many people trying to get in that the little number that showed how many people are tryign to get in wasn't showing up any more :0
