How did everyone feel about working with color restrictions? Is it something you want to see again? Also, anything you particularly want to do for the next challenge?

Good job everyone! I'm voting for green raven's, this tree and those grass tiles are just lovely. :p

As for your questions Peri, I only joined this challenge because of those color restrictions. I'm not a pixel artist, and I find it easier to work on smaller tiles with less colors (at least with the small amount of details there is in my mockup). So yes, I'd like to see that again so that I can take part of another challenge. As for the next challenge, I don't know... Maybe something centered on sprites instead of tiles, like a monster sprite or something ? :p

Anyway, that was fun. :D

Sprite animations sound nice, and I think Tindy already took you up on the underwater idea. And wow, my scene looks so terrible in a lineup. Oh well, what should I expect from a first contest submission? Maybe I have a chance for the next one.

Honestly they all look pretty damn amazing, There's specific things in each of them that I really like.

And to answer the question, I quite enjoyed the limitations and doing something different for a change. Only wish I was able to finish mine, maybe I'll work on it a bit more and post it or something (not for contest, just simply to finish it)

I'd also like to add that something more Sprite based instead of tileset based sounds good. Sprites are also something I know I need a lot more practice on :blank:

I think coyotecraft's really capture's the Gameboy style. I've liked it from the start. Plus it's Sabriel, so that's the one that gets my vote.

Interesting that 4 out of 6 have water in them. Ok, maybe it's not that unusual.
These contests have been distracting me from my project. If the next one deals with sprites I might be able to kill 2 birds with one stone and get a little work done.

I don't really like working small. If there's going to be a color restriction at least give us a palette, a low color count isn't that hard when you can pick any color you want.
