Pirates 3 = Stealing Glory? (Spoilers)

(PIRATES 3 SPOILERS AHEAD)

For those of you who played the demo of the sadly defeated project of mine, Stealing Glory, some of this may sound more familiar to you (Stealing Glory was cancelled due to technical limitations, and my personal limitations as a maker).

Anyway, the point of this point is that Pirate of the Caribbean 3 destroyed all hopes of me ever revisiting the story, due to an insurmountable amount of similarities.

As a refresher, and for the majority of you who have no idea of the unreleased story of Stealing Glory, I present it here:

(These parts are foundational, and bear no significant similarities to the film in question. Skip to red to see the good stuff.)

The concept behind Stealing Glory is that there are two worlds. One world tells a story about a just king of an island kingdom, who had won the love of the creator goddess of the world. The jealous and corrupt king of a rival nation mustered an undefeatable army and descended on the small peaceful kingdom, prompting the Goddess to send the king away to another pseudo-parallel universe where he would be safe. This story is told in this false world.

The story told in the real world was very different. The king of the sea and the isle of spring, Asher D'Gammon, was a corsair king, corrupt and foul. His people were by and large no better. Inexplicably, though - the goddess loved him, and granted him immortality and power, cementing his tyrannical rule for what people imagined would be eternity. One of the children of the goddess, a wise and fair king of men, led his soldiers in a campaign that overthrew all the armies of King D'Gammon, before the king and the rest of his people suddenly vanished - taken away by the goddess.

The power of the goddess waned, however, and her spell had an unexpected effect on the king of the sea. He was divided into two persons - Morocz D'Gammon, the embidiment of his immortality, power, and wrath, and Asher D'Andross, his heart.

The primary plotline in Stealing Glory was that Morocz sought to regain his life and his throne by, essentially, assimilating Asher. The pursuit eventually leads them back to the real world, where Asher is able to unite the corsairs against Morocz, defeat him by sacrificing his own humanity, and reclaim the seas. He is joined in this pursuit by the queen of pirates, Black Rose.

THIS is where the problem comes in.

Let's go ahead and call Davey Jones the king of the sea - he certainly rules it.

In Pirates 3, the evil king of the sea is caught up in a struggle to control his heart, wherein lies, arguably, his true power.

An important step in overcoming the enemies in Pirates 3 was a bunch of pirates releasing a goddess from her human bonds.

Are you seeing a pattern?

So the government already has figured out how to track our thoughts... it's only a short while until thoughtcrime! RUN FOR THE HILLS!

They obviously have accessed to your computer and downloaded all your notes about stealing glory. SUE THEM!

More seriously... I suppose there is a small probability of that happening, that your game and Pirates 3 had many similarities.
