party help!

I just started using rpg maker xp yesterday and i think im doing a gr8 job so far but i was wondering can you have someone join your team from in the game like you can talk to someone and if you want them to be in you party you can send them and invite and they'll join your party?ar

There's a "Change Party Member" event command, just select an Actor and the option "Add."

Just make sure you don't have four members already. Than the game wouldn't do it.
