Partitions and Extending.

Hello. I have a problem that my computer came with a split hardrive, and I want to resiz the sizes. One partition is my main C: drive, and the other one is my backup D: drive. I want to make the C: drive bigger, but I can't. I shrunk the D: drive already, but now I just have alot of unallocated space. I wand to extend the C: drive with the unallocated spac,e but Vista greys out the choice in the Computer Management application.
I don't want to download any crap, like PartitionMagic. I jsut need a simple way to add the unallocated space to my C: drive.

Thanks,
Lonelyelf

Vista Basic
C: (69.53 gb)
D:(34.82 gb)
unallocated space (34.70 gb)
I used Computer Management and shrunk D: 35542 mb

You cannot do that. C: is grey by default since your Windows Vista is on it. And to allocate that space to your C: drive you will lose all the data on it.

Best way to do this will be to put in the Windows Vista DVD and when the install runs trough that install program you allocate that space on C: drive (of course you will lose all the data on C drive).
