Outside Maps
First of all: there are some errors, I know. But try to ignore them and extract the main idea of the tutorial.
NOTE: I'll use a NON RTP Tileset and autotiles. I think you can found it at this web. Credits to Tana if you use it
A.- Advices.
Well. We will start with a few advices, useful while doing outside maps:
- First "law": nature is random. Roads are not straight, rivers meander, trees must be randomly placed, etc...
- Use wisely fogs, panorama, screen tone and weather. There are fundamental elements on any map, and more in outside maps.
- In most of cases, a small map is the better way to do a good map. The more big you do, the more details you must add, so probably there will be undetailed places on your map. However, there are maps that neccesary must be bigs (as deserts for example).
- Study the tileset you are going to use.
- Choose prudently the autotiles.
- Use wisely layers, priorities, passability, etc. Make the post of three layers. Try to fill them all (this is more important on outside maps that on inner ones).
B.- Layer #1.
On layer #1 we will do ground, roads, rivers, etc. Moreover, we can add "wall". Here I will do a road that crosses jungle's river (using a bridge, of course XD). That road will take us to a temple entrance.
Some things seem to be uncompleted, but important thing is the final result:

C.- Layer #2.
Now, we are going to set some details (bridge sides and stairs sides for example).
Furthermore, we will "make round" the bushes that surround the road.
And we will put base trunks of some trees (in a jungle, palm trees, of course), little bushes, flowers, mushrooms and a lot of details.
Maybe we must change some things on layer #1. These will be small changes that arise as we are doing our map. It's normal.

D.- Layer #3 & Event Layer.
We must complete the trees we have put, just as add some more flowers and another details.
In some cases, we must use Event Layer to complete our map. This is a good sign. It means that our map is really fully detailed.
In addition, we must use some animal events to dynamize the map.
And also we will use an paralell proccess event (with command "Erase event temporally" at the end) to change fog (representing light rays crossing trough trees), screen tone and rain.
