OST in Progress

Hi. I'm new to this site, just to get that out there.
I am currently the composer for a project titled Misthalin Memories that is being produced by the group Konaku.

For the OST I use MIDI. Not the best, but it saves space and works. I have yet to find a single media player that does not accept MIDI. When writing I use notation so I am musically literate, and I input notes into the program Sibelius.

However, I won't go on and on, I'm just curious to see what other musicians say about what I've done so far.
Below is the link to the File-Sharing site I have uploaded select tracks from the OST to. I would love to hear what all of you have to say. I'd be very appreciative.

Misthalin Memories OST

I'm sorry, I didn't want a critique on how it fit in the game, haha.
I probably should have made that a little clearer, I would just appreciate an opinion on what all of you think of my music.

No, I read the rules, haha.

no i meant that it is for a video game thus making it an resource for a game

this forum is for music outside of that

the main reason i say this is because you will get WAY more crits over there than this shitty forum (no one really checks here) so you might want to ask a mod to move it.

either way ill still take a listen :3

ok so i took a listen to some of the files, but jeez dude next time could you just zip all the files, it would make things much easier

airship-ok, way too random for me. I couldnt find a constant melody throughout, just lots of high brass. I would love some clarinet and less trumpet. The timpani could be brought out a tad more, but overall i didnt like this one.

battle theme-again same as above. This actually sounds like an airship theme imo. Didnt like the melody all too much.

forest- ok ok, i actually like the ominous beginning of this. the oboe helps give a eerie effect. the melody is starting to circle jerk though, try to keep it a little variated. The percussion could be a tad lighter imo, but makes a nice harmony. This one was ok. Im not sure if you were going for the haunted forest theme or what not but if so good job.

I didnt listen to the rest but the above crits should be enough to give you clear feedback. concentrate on keeping your themes catchy and not haphazardous. good luck!

There are a few songs I've like to critique.

Beach Theme
This theme actually had a pair of beautiful chords to start with but after a while it starts to drag. There's not quite a solid flow it after the first minute.

Jaxx's Theme
A nice Militant theme and you used the right instruments to portray that, and as well, in this theme it feels a bit random but you come back to repeat the intro section which is a good thing that saves the song from dragging

Trekking
This is quite a nice theme, especially in the beginning - it catches my ear immediately. The symptoms in are minimal in this one from those of Beach and Jaxx's, but it fairly a solid theme

I think in overall you have very nice melodies in your hands, but you'll have to know how to juggle them better. Some sections tend to drag and get tedious. If you can neatly divide your songs into verses and choruses, I can see great songs come out. :]

...And when I say great, I mean Great.

Thanks Shizu. Now that I look at them, all my songs just go from one phrase to a new phrase to a new one and then loop.  And thanks for the critique Moog.
