How it works. Each participant puts out a short phrase on a solo instrument and posts it here. The phrase you put out could be meant to be an accompaniment to someone else's phrase or it can just be some cool little melody you've been toying with. Anyway once a whole bunch of samples are out there you can proceed to grab all the samples to try and create some kind of musical composition. As a composer you are free to cut up and alter any of the samples as you wish, but you cannot use anything that's not sampled in the thread. So if you want to add something you write put it out there in the sample pool first for other folks to piddle around with.

Sample must be short
Sample must be of one instrument
Sample must be exported as a standard file type that can be used by most mixing programs (.wav, .ogg, .midi, .mp3)
Sample must be downloadable

Q. Does it have to be a live instrument recording?
A. No, It only has to be a lick from a solitary instrument be it electric, accoustic, or synthesized.
Q. What's the point?
A. To share music with other's and get inspiration from jamming with other musicians.
