In the interest of getting some activity going so this section doesn't die before it even starts - what kind of game would interest you enough to participate?

Do you want a game that uses supplementary gaming stuff - books, charactersheets, online dice rollers, whatever, or a simple rules lite where the focus is on story, interaction, etc? Do you want to play in a D&D-esque setting, explore space in something akin to Mass Effect, or angst it out in some sort of wacky Persona-meets-Silent Hill-hybrid?

Whatever you're looking for in a game, post here, and maybe some people can find some common ground and get a game started.

something space-agey could be cool. and then anyone'd be able to be whatever alien they feel like being pretty much.
we'd have to make sure that someone (a "dungeonmaster") develops a premise worth fighting for, and banding together for. and we'd have to have a failsafe for in case someone decides to drop out (i.e. someone takes control of that character, and they are re-written to die at that point.)./

I like having some thought put into the RP's design, but I don't want to go all the way through books or anything. Just an MS Word doc page worth of description at least, a few pages (without images) max. Several pages if pictures are involved.

Just...somebody make an RP so we can play!

All right. I'm going to host an RP I worked together with someone else on at another site. It'll probably take it a while to get started though. Also, before I start, I have a question. Are we allowed to make a separate OOC thread, or should we keep it all in the same thread?

I'd really love to see a space-aged RP, as suggested by Venetia. But not really about aliens and stuff. I was thinking more about life in the future, like people (humans) living in the space and such. Maybe also implementing some stuff like mechas and so on.

I.e. someone joining just to try it out and then getting bored, won't harm the flow of the game.




Seperate OOC threads is fine and IMO encouraged. Just remember to mark your threads [RP] and [OOC] and try and keep the same title for both threads so it is obvious they are together.

[OOC] NINJA WARRIORS GAME

Saying that, from a purely OCD point of view, might want to change [OOC] to [OC] to keep the threads aligned >_>

actually i was halfway thinking about a zombie-related rp that would allow for this ... if you just want to pop in and leave, if you don't make another post for, say, 3 days, the other characters find your character's corpse/they've been assimilated into the horde. because it's really easy to get lost when the zombies come strolling in ...

You could have a sort of starwars galaxies game where you have each person get their own starship and fly around the traverse killing geth,
and if they decide to drop out - they simply died

I'm currently designing a desert themed action fantasy for the RP forum. Its filled with interesting lore, monsters, and semi-futuristic combat with guns and magic. Expect it out before the end of the month. :box:

I think it'd be a good idea to have a thread for people to post their basic character profile sheets.
At least that way it's more of a fixed resource.

Actually I think having a sub forum for characters might not be a bad idea. It'd keep one RP from having three threads in one forum at least.

1: this forum is ALREADY a subforum, feels weird having a subforum for this

2: there's a limited # of games that can go on at one time- you can't have ten or twelve games(but we can try), or at least we know that many games are unlikely to be played by the forum members

3:because of #2, the other threads, the ooc, the characters, etc. they're basically to fill up this subforum.

I mean, it's not really that insanely disorganized right now or anything.

whatever I start would have excessive amounts of cool looking goggles and lots of awesome machines and stuff though so BE WARNED...........
