I'm hiring a sprite artist (a relitive =p) to make me some sprites. The game will have an custom ABS.

The thing is ... spritesets are 16 by 16 right? Which is for walking and running.

How do I make the sprite raise his sword and move it down onto the enemy when he attacks? Is there any easier way besides making a whole differant spriteset for attacking called by a common event?

The battle system is going to be in the same genre as Zelda - A Link to the past (GBA) Exept:
Will focus more on swordplay combat, less on using items.
 
Just a couple things, a characterset can be any size you want it to be (doesn't have to be 16x16).  Look on the enterbrain website to see how that works.

Also it would help to know which ABS you are using because I believe they all do it differently.
