Old School FF Gilgamesh Battler

Hi all.  I can't beleive I finaly found this one.  This was originaly made for my Final Fantasy game I was making.  It is Gilgamesh from FF VIII.  I used the FF V Gilgamesh as a template to make this one.  Hope anyone making a old school FF likes it... All I ask is that I am given credit for the work....  also if you could please send me a PM with what game the sprite is being used for.  I would like to see how it looks in peoples games.

He may need to be inlarged to work in a rmxp game.

Heh, that's pretty cool, also it doesn't need to be enlarged, it's big enough for a sideview battler.

Yeah, he always had lots of arms, in FF8 he was holding 4 swords at the same time. (and in FF12 he was holding a lot more swords than that)
Gilgamesh has always had lots of arms.

He had a Dog to right? Do you have a sprite of that?

That was Yojimbo who had the dog.

Gilgamesh was at first 4 arms from FF4 up, and I think in the later ones it was 6 and more.

Actually Gilgamesh had a dog as well (Enkidu) based on the original legend of Gilgamesh (A sumerian king with a personality similar to that of the character in FF Games) although Gilgamesh's dog was not always present in the games (I know it was there in FF12...I think it might have been in 5 as well)

The 3 swords he has are the Masamune, Excalibur, and Odin's sword the Zantetsuken which was knocked out of Odin's hand when he attackes Seifer near the end of the game.  I am not sure what the full story line behind the switch of summons, and the line that Gilgamesh says to Seifer before he sends him off.  But this was the one I was using for my Final Fantasy if I ever make one  :grin:  Also if I can find any of my others I have made in the past I can remember making a Iron Giant, Flan, Bomb, and Garland from the very first FF, which he was my main bad guy for my FF I was working on.  If I can find them I will post them for everyone to use.

I just seen when looking up information on Gilgamesh that 12 had a dog but that is the only FF to have a dog with him

Gilgamesh actually had four swords in 8, excalibur, excalipoor (joke version of excalibur, it's been a running joke for gilgamesh to get the fake versions of weapons) Masamune and Zantetsuken.

He appears in FF8 after Seifer destroys Odin (and Odins sword is left behind, Gilgamesh jumps out of a dimensional portal (again a running joke) and claims the sword then shows up randomly to help in fights like Odin did)
