ObsCure 1 & 2

I love survival horror adventures, and teen slasher flicks like Final Destination and Scream, so I like how ObsCure gives you the best of both.

I think ObsCure is very underrated. This may be attributed to the fact that it is way too similar to the older Resident Evil games, but with a bit of a stranger side to it which does not appeal to everybody.

ObsCure II just came out in the UK, and it will not be out in the US until January 2008. It is pretty much a continuation of the first game, as it features most of the same characters.

The story behind ObsCure is that a gang of students fought their way out of a high school, after discovering the sinister connections it shared with their headmaster. The 2 player mode was blatantly created to near perfection, and there were quite a few jump-a-minute moments that you don't forget any time soon.

ObsCure II is set in college, with the survivors of the original trying to get on with their lives. Things take a turn for the worse when a rare breed of plant life begins to cause hallucinations and reoccuring nightmares (in which you play the characters having the bad dream). It is not just a dream game though, because the monsters then appear for real and it becomes a battle to survive.

For a direct to shelves game, it is actually very entertaining. Quite rare too, because most horror games are for one player only. This game is great for playing with your bessie mate, or little cousin, sister, whatever.

I am enjoying it thus far. Only it is much less fun without my sister, who is not staying at home just now.

I've honestly never heard of it. Looking at the Wiki article, it seems it's made by Dreamcatcher, which isn't surprising. They have tons of adventure games that seem to fly beneath the radars of everyone, maybe one or two that get recognized.

Looks like Maniac Mansion with horror to replace the silliness.

Awesome Bro

I played Obscure 1 with a friend on Co-op. We completed it over a period of 4 months overall (on and off etc). I did find the game to be really unique, The plot was really outstanding, but the realism was a bit off. I loved fighting the large monster in the gymnasium, Easily my favourite part!

I found the "everyone has a useful talent" part really challenging sometimes. To make your life easier, You had to have the right person at the right time, otherwise you could be there for ages! The ammo and weapons were a bit bland also. I do admit that I used a walkthrough on certain parts. But only because we was playing it in the peak of summer and we was getting highly frustrated :p. I found it really hard to preserve ammo as every creature took so long to fall and die!

I had no idea Obscure 2 was even being released! In all honesty, I thought Obscure 1 wasn't popular enough (As I thought i was the only one who played it), But this is really good news!

Is it for the XBOX again or 360? (I don't even remember if i played this on the PS2 actually :s I have that many consoles, I forget! Ask Andy6000) I hope this one exceeds the first. Maybe it will take to the eye of the resident evil fans out there a little more.

Yeah, I think you're right. It's one of those games that you play and think ... "Why did i never see this advertised?"

I've just got in touch with my mate and insisted we both take a day off work :p

Yeeehaaaar!
