Not sure what way to go..

I made a game a long time ago, when my comp died I lost everything.. I am not sure what system it was, but I know I've tried all the RPG Makers.. Anyways, I want to come back and make a game once again but I can't find things I need. First I don't know what RPG Maker to use, one thing I need is HUGE amounts of content people have created. I prolly would want to use the one with the most, don't care if its XP/VX/2K3/2K, I just want the best one, where I have thousands of tilesets/facesets/character sets to download. One thing I kinda have to have is Suikoden Tilesets, I remember the one I used had a lot of those, I prolly collected thousands of monsters/sounds/music and everything. I was really mad when i lost it all, so much I quit making any games..

So, here we go?

Question #1: What is the best RPG Maker in overall? And which is the most used RpG Maker today?

Question #2: What RPG Maker (doesn't have to be VX or XP) has the most content I can get from the web?

Question #3: Is there any huge databases for the RPG Maker (from question #2)? Also is there any giant one file download for 100's of MB (maybe even gigs) worth of files, to save time on resource searching. perhaps one of you has gigs worth?! =D If you know of any good sites with TONS and TONS of resources, please post here, I really need help.

Question #4: Which RPG Maker has Suikoden tile-sets and more, and where can I find this (my search came up empty)..

Thanks to anyone who helps out this old timer,

1) i think RMXP is the best, you can find lots of resources on the net for it, and its the most used (in my opinion)

2) XP becuase its easier to find resources and there are alot of them.

3+4) i dont know...

I hope that helps..abit :thumb:

Rmxp, rmxp, rmxp, and rmxp.

Now, as for whether it's the "best"...well, that's up to personal opinion. I happen to think very highly of it, and for what it doesn't have, there's plenty of room for expansion in scripts.

It's most certainly the one with the most "stuff" available for download.

As for a database of stuff... you're out of luck there, I'm 95% certain there's none. But there's loads of websites on the intarwebs with stuff available for the downloadings. Google is magic.

"which has suikoden tilesets"? Well, technically, none. That's ripped and downloaded content. But XP would be best equipped to handle it.

I really need help finding stuff, it seems like there isn't as much stuff out as there used to be.. And I think the Suikoden stuff was for RPG Maker 2K3.. So if anyone knows any good sites for RPG Maker XP stuff, or has a huge collection and wouldn't mind uploading it for me, I would greatly appreciate it. I also hear that there is a program to transfer things made for 2K3 to XP size/style.

When I get a huge gathering of stuff I plan on uploading it all, I can't believe this hasn't been done by someone already..

This hasn't been done because it's grossly fucked up to the artists who make the resources to just redistribute their shit without their consent.

Rips and stuff like that though, yeah, go for it. I'm sure people'd be thrilled.

I think you think people care to much about people using their work. In fact I think most creators rather get more people to use their stuff, or it's almost a waste of their time. You are thinking to selfish really, most things already have "tags" on them to identify who made them (if someone wants credit, they put it on the image so you know). What more can you ask for... Exactly, moving on (people need to be more helpful to others if you ask me, and stop caring about themselves primarily. This RPG Maker stuff is for fun, nothing more.)! Maybe I am just crazy, I rather just help people have more than care about recognition of anything.

Yea I will do it, but I need people to contribute to it. I need links to sites with tons of stuff, and maybe someone else's collection or this will be impossible for me to do. I did this back in the day for 2K3, or 2000, can't remember and it has thousands and thousands of files. When I got a new computer, all that vanished, so I gotta start all over.. Well if anyone wants to actually help, I will be more than thrilled to receive it.

Only thing I don't need is any more Music, I got a database with all of that stuff. And got hundreds collected already, everything else is like a shallow pond. I can't find anything good, nor any big sites.

Thanks,

i think youre looking at the people who make this stuff wrong

for one, people typically make their artwork for themselves, to use in their projects, and then out of their own kindness share their work in communities like this one for people who arent willing to put in the time themselves to make their own artwork.

so basically it breaks down to artists > community > leeches

personally as an artist, i dont like to share my work in a usable form because i dont want the leeches spreading my work all over the internet and seeing my art in a bunch of half ass carbon copy shitty games with no thought or talent put into them. and if i were to get a request for something from someone, i would give it directly to them and ask they credit me and not repost it elsewhere. i would consider not spreading my work around like a dirty whore payment for doing them a favor.

i feel that if youre going to compile a bunch of peoples work and redistribute it, you should get all of their consent. and if they ask you not to include their work you honor their request not to.

common courtesy is a good thing
